A while back I picked up a gsr that had a few issues.
It would not rev past 4500/5000 and only made 5psi it had a rusty tank and that was replaced by the previous owner along with a walbro pump.
I replaced the fuel filter,put in cleaned 510 injectors,609 afm and an evo ecu. It now struggles up to 7000....but still only makes 5 psi boost. I put in a boost and enventually wound it all the way shut after several tries in different spots. still only 5 psi. changed the blow off valve.
So I took the line off the waste....expecting it to climb rapidly. It got to 10psi at 7000. That done with my foot jammed on the brake in second gear.
SO...i thought the waste gate arm is stuck open. I checked that and it moved freely. {Turbo is TDo5 450,,,evo 1}
Maybe exhaust is blocked...drill holes in the muffler as it has a tiny outlet.
Still the same. ...
It runs clean and doesn't behave like a boost leak..or misfire under load.
Has anyone ever had the waste gate disc drop off?
