4g93t bhp chasing

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Yep, thats what I'm saying, for $8.5 K you get a complete converted car, so why would you spend money on the other options?

So the way I see it, if you want a 4g63 in a GSR, wait till a converted one comes up, much cheaper.

If I had my time again thats what I would do.

i some how doubt the meek conversion includes an awd swap. and for 8.5k it'll be all std equipment no forged blocks etc

The 210kw is 280hp, so needs a little more boost to get the 300hp+. How much boost would that be on?
And how much boost would a 1.8 need to get to 300hp (225kw)?

Obviously if the op could sell his car for $3k, then he is in the hole for only $5500.
$5500 is a lot of engine work on a 93t. I think that would get a forged bottom end, machining, ecmlink, e85 pump and injectors, exhaust and a tune.

The OP is from England so I doubt he will be buying the car I linked.

I would guess that another 3-5 psi would easily bring it up to 300hp....but whether the 16g could handle anymore boost is questionable....which is probably why the tuner stopped where they did.

My 1.8L made 210kwatw on 98...

Each to their own guys, the 1.8 v 2.0 argument will go on forever.

ask me again after my next tune how much boost a 1.8 need for that power because thats what im chasing atm i'm on 200 at 10psi so 300 is well withing the realm of possibilities

Forged bottom end, light porting and a 20g running 24psi.

Also had massive cams but due to the turbo/cam combo being so unbalanced I wouldn't think they helped. Just pushed the power curve way up the rev range.

It made more power with the stock cams in it anyway...

This video is always good for a laugh. And is probably why I really like my 1.8 GSR.

Mr eagon who did your tuning?
That's not my car, just a clip I found on youtube.

so far ive tuned my car myself with my brother, just street tuning,
Dialed in pretty good.;

Ill get it on a dyno once ive fully finished the car off, I have a forged bottom end sitting in my shed, just picked up a E2 gearbox rear diff combo,

don't see the point in dynoing now, cost to much to do it again once the other motor is in,
