Okay yes i know about the tech guide on evocoupe.net but im wondering if anyone has done this to an evo or gsr.

First the tr magna front hubs are a direct bolt on i understand but so ( tr magna from 2.6lt 4cyl straight fit ) ts also fit from (ts magna 3lt v6 with abs) since i have abs already.

Question is if i want to keep my abs do i have to get ts magna hubs or can the tr magna hubs fit the abs sensors?

I don't mean to be harsh, but it's obvious you are to lezy to pull a wheel off and have a look for yourself.
If you did, you would have realized that the abs tone ring is located on the outer cv joint and the sensor is located on the knuckle.
So if you are swapping the correctly splined tr magna hub into your knuckle, abs will be unaffected.

lol okay i must have worded that wrong. Short story is i cannot get my hands on any fto front nuckles. So im having to use magna ones . Wrecker has tr and ts but havent had an opportunity to get out there. all im asking is do both tr and ts magna nuckles have the slot to put in the abs sensor ? or did only the 3.0 v6 not the 2.6 4

only reason is i dont wanna drive out to this wreckers ( 1.5hour away ) to find that the tr hubs cannot be used on my gsr due to no mounting for the abs. Was just wondering if they were different between the v6 or 4 cyl

Oh, ok. I dunno, but I would think there is no difference between v6 and 4cyl knuckles. Also as far as I know those magnas have tone rings on the outer cv, so the knuckles should have the provision for abs sensors.
Ask the wrecker for a pic, or do the rounds of the car yard with a torch, lol
If it helps, a guy I know got some magna knuckles and said they were the same as his rvr ones.

***UPDATE*** lol god i love this. Was able to source FTO front nuckles with brakes on them for a carton of 4x. LOL

had a tow trucky mate ring me saying he picked up a fto from an incident last week, was rear end ride off . Gotta love connections

and now waiting for meek to ring me back about rear evo 4 5 6 hubs

but im guessing you had to press the hubs out? , im buying a second set of trailing arms so i can go back to 4 stud if need be as well as i keep my car on the road while doing the conversion

Yea pressed them out redrilled new bearings an back on the car in a few hours its not a huge job, why would you need to go back to 4 stud?

No idea but if I do I'll have the original trailing arms lol . Just gotta work out how to mount and sensor in the fto front steering nuckles

I am confused by all of this. I used my orginal uprights and just pressed on the 5 stud hubs front and rear.

How did you do the Brembos then? Don't you need the E4 uprights to bolt the Brembo calipers to?

I just had brackets machined up.

Alternatively you can buy the brackets from Racefab or whoever it is in NZ and bolt everything on to the early model evo.

well i was right , the fto steering nuckle has no slot for abs but it has got the block on there she just aint drilled out .. going to see how hard it is to drill out or i just may have to use the gsr nuckles

so got all my parts. FTO front bearing discs and pads for $110 on trade. Realised i need to use my gsr nuckles since i wanna keep my abs. ATM im making up a braket for the press to safely push out the stub axle and bearing as our press is abit short or units.

will post pics of final product for laughs. Welders at work had a good laugh hahaha

Okay guys quick update.

Got new bearing for the rear plus am about to redrill the rear hubs for 5 x 114.3. The disc are DBA 406. with overall height 260 step height of disc 10mm and overall flat height of 41mm..

Is there a disc that is 5 stud to fit this? or are people also redrilling discs? which i thought was a massive no no since the discs aint exactly as strong as the hub to redril..

... points?
