As you said it could have been a lot worse. Was there much damage on the Corolla?

Not alot considering the size of the dent in the GSR. It needs a new guard, indicator, and front bumper, maybe a bonnet. Lucky its an old shitbox. I left a note, and the guy contacted me pretty much after I left the scene.

It could have been alot worse!

I suppose I should thank my lucky stars its not a write off or anyone got hurt

What do you do if you have a turbo timer and your handbreak isn't this best..

stay in the car untill the turbo timer has finished, engine has shut down, and then put the car in gear.

Or you could just not use the turbo timer and take it easy for the last few minutes of driving before you get to your destination.

Second option is far more favorable as you are getting cool airflow through the motor and brakes etc

BEST advice for any turbo car  8) (Add the oil cooler into the list  )

my RX-7 did this as well... the handbreak failed in the middle of the night, rolled backwards down the driveway and was sitting in the middle of the road until the cops came knocking on the door for me to move it :?

I used to have an ol early 70's Chrysler Galant i bought for $250 so i had wheels with a roof when i didnt feel like rideing my motorbike. Parked out front of new girlfriends (now wife!) house on a really steep hill in Greensborough. Climbed out the passenger door as you do when your drivers door is fkd, turned around and  its starting to roll down the hill!

Faaarrrkk, lept in the door, ripped the handbrake, still rolling, reached over to stomp the brake pedal..... Pheeww. Stopped.

Turn the wheels into the gutter and seemed safe enough.

Stopped about 1m short of her dads car parked behind me 8)

Best car i ever had, flogged it for 2 years never spent a cent on it apart from topping up oil (self changing - no need to do a change!) and sold it for...... $250. Thats free motoring for 2 yrs. :D
My current transport costs a bomb compared to those days. Ahhh well....
