Atleast im not just going out to get a dodgy and away we go like 1/2 of the other people do.

yeah well make it safe but come on 13 items... normaly what they say to me, is u got all these items wrong... i will write u up the roadworthy, but if u dont fix the items its ya own fault... when i got one done on mine ages ago... i had a few items... but they let it pass, n i fixed up ALL the items slowly! didnt have money at the time...

didn't have money at the time...

Then don't drive it :p

Sorry, but i don't have much time for people driving in unsafe cars (im on the road as well  )
If your car is unroadworthy at the time of a accident (i.e illegal mods etc) insurance company's don't have to pay your claim (FYI)

joe ness, there is only so far you can stay within the rules of modifying your car. aftermarket ecu? ba bow epa emissions.

Unless you have 2-3k to spend on emissions tuning every time, whether you pass or fail, you still get charged.

I thought that if u started with 13 inch wheels u can go up by only 2 to 15 inch. Correct me if I am wrong.

The law states that you can go 25mm wider and has to remain the within 15 mm of the standerd rolling diameter.

Alot of cops will give you the 2" rule because its easier for them, but you are actually able to despuite it. But the 17's are 2" wider than my stock 13's and i was aware of this, so im just going to ware it. when i get the car engineered im going to go for it with 17's on it.

bah

they make up shit on the spot. I had 18's on my old civic vtir and was told in a defect notice only 2" bigger than standard, then got it cleared and got another defect a week later on the grounds they had to be onbly 1" bigger than standard

theyre fuckwits, thats all it comes down to.

FUCKWITS!

i just went a got a tyre placard from mitsy for a magna....never had a prob since

its the best way

I went to the car lot and looked at a few till I found one with no model writing on there and orded it through mits for like a $1

my car had 13x6" rims standard and I fitted 18x7" and never had any trouble

well im fucked,

went to pick up my car from the mechanics today with the roadie and head down to vicroads, rock up there, hes like everythings sweet, but i cant give you a roadworthy.

so im like WTF is goin on? he goes i was fine to pass you but i got inspected by vicroad while your car was on the hoist and they said that im unable to roadie your car without an engineers cert, (me thinking that i need a roadie to get an engineers anyways)

so i drove the car home, rang a few engineers, they are all booked out till late jan, so im gonna try a few other places for a roadie and see how i go.... but it suck hardcore

holy crap that sucks! like big time... what if u cant get one... your going to have to put the stock motor in then when u get roadworthy, your going to have to put the turbo one back in???

lookfor some proton gti exhaust headers and airbox parts which will bolt straight on and it should pass a rwc easy

and then fit the turbo back on after

i dunno about that steve. That engine 4G93T, came out in that shape lancer, so you really havent done anything custom for it to require an engineer to go over it?

I dont really know how it all works, but it just seems a bit silly that you require eng cert if you ask me :?

EPA: requies an an engineers or ADR approved engine (GSR is ADR approved)

VicRoads: requies an engineers when you increse power by 10%

I thought it was 200cc or 400cc more is ok anthing more has to have engineering
