Get this went out of old mates driveway reveed the car till 6 maybe 7 grand let off the clutch then nothing, car wouldnt move someone plz tell me wats wrong!! the gear box in my vr4 is a selectable RWD, and 4WD i dont no wats wrong maybe the gearbox shit it self?

was the clutch slipping?
was there any noises when you dumped the clutch. You could have possibly stripped a couple of gears in your box id probally check condition of gear oil and diff oils make sure theres no pieces of gear in the oil.or possibly transfer case gears

is there any drive in either RWD or AWD

firstly its selectable fwd awd, not rwd
did you hear a smash? a crunch? did the car jerk then stop? if so id say stripped gear/spline
very unluck

no movement in any gear? i had that problem when i broke the centre out my clutch
nah theres nothing there, i can put in gear but it wont move. Plus anyone no of a good mechanic around my area?

Sounds like you've ripped the centre of the clutch out. Kinda deserve it from a stop 7 grand launch.

there only weak if someone cant use a clutch propley.
i had the last one in my old car for 3 years never changed it. 5 puck.
at the end got worn a bit pulling and reversing a trailler kinda killed the friction point.
i would look at ur transfer case and see if u did some other damage.
u have probley shatterd the clutch or u might be lucky and have a cotton wool gear box now

well that was taken a week after they "rebuilt" it, i wasn't doing 7k launches with it but i think the previous owner may have given it a hard time :p

They have now fitted larger rivets to it, i'll see how long it lasts when i get the car running again

Talk to Dave at The Gearbox Shop. He is in Herbert St Slacks Creek just down from Autobarn.
I wonder if it is your centre diff that has broken or a rear axle maybe?
What exactly did it do when you dropped the clutch. Did it move at all?

yer definetly the gearbox shop very knowledgeable. id definelty recommend them too anyone he builts a couple of dog boxes and mates cars and all were execelent in quality and finish

Just jacked up the car theres oil leaking from the gearbox, and funny thing was when i let out the clutch it didnt make any noises. The gearbox was on its way anyway I could pull the car out of gear without the clutch. That was defenitley not a good thing. If anyone is around sunnybank please come and have a look it would be much appreciated!

why would you do something stupid like a 7k launch on a stuffed clutch, or try and take it out of gear without a clutch. you haven't snapped a shaft because you would still be moving. you have probably ripped the teeth of a gear inside the box and that has cracked the housing.

Yeah may of been stupid but f**k it everyone learns fron there mistakes dont they.

on a stuffed clutch would be better gvr40.. atleast it would be the weakest link in the drivetrain, if it happens to just be the clutch then be grateful, i doubt if you had a stuffed clutch and did a 7k launch the gbox would shatter.. everyone talks about having the clutch the weakest link in the drivetrain and everyone is saying its stupid.. id rather blow my clutch to smithereens then have my rs box and transfer in a thousand pieces..

agreed everyone does learn from their mistakes, and on a stuffed clutch is better than on a good clutch, but i don't think it is a clutch that is the issue

yes ive learnt from alot of mistakes

and i agree i think the clutch could be a possibility but the box and transfercase stripping a gear or spline would sound more realistic.

if i had remember too bring my snap on bores scope home i woulda come had a look if you havent sorted it out by next weekend ill try and pop around
