woke up late, thought i would do something productive....

just need to make up all the lines, dump pipe and outlet pipe then its ready to bolt on.....
 
Lookin good, how did you work out what length to make the runners?

and will the bearings be lubricated alright with the turbo mounted on that much of an angle? I saw an interview with a chap from prodrive (who build the wrc subi's) in which he was saying they mounted the turbo vertically and had to completely redesign the core so it would be properly lubricated.

thanks for the comments guys!

length would be the same as if it were a N/A at high RPM tuning with 40od pipe.... its honestly a calculated guess....

as for the lube on the bearings..... no freakin idea, i'll tell you when we test run the thing...... the angle is not by choice as its the only way the damn huge ass comp housing will clear everything.....
 
The angle doesnt look overly bad. no worse than a big turbo fittined intoa wrx engine bay.. I guess as long as there is still gravity pulling oil through it should still lubricate.

Manifold looks good, can't wait to see the results. Will be very interesting. I wonder if it would have been possible to fit the turbo the same was as in the 4 - 10, opposite direction to the vr4/1-3? Did you think of doing this?

i also can get my hands on an EVO 8 Titanium wheel turbo.... that would be fun!...

fitting the Turbo the same way as the 4-9 is possible but harder to run dump pipe and inlet/outlet pipes, but possible if you really wanted it too....

i now know why they charge an ass load to make custom manis! need some lil porting work on one runner but other then that its ready....

did some measurements on my GGSR and the turbo should have less then an 1' of space between the turbo housing and the radiator, which is good....
 
looks good. grind the welds down, port it out to make it smooth.. make sure no dags on the inside to go through the turbo.. and your done.

Gonna HPC coat it? or heat tape wrap it?
 
neh gonna leave the welds, not going to hide anything.... might heat wrap it after i get it sand blasted in and out..... might even just spray it.....

anyone know how much HPC coating is??

btw it's a evo7rs turbo.. so it's still has the 9.8 hot side..
plus another e7 gsr turbo at my here..
i guess it's time to fire up my car..

btw can i swap the E4 for the E7 turbo?? lolzzz jkz
