I have been quoted $710 inc. labour for new brembo front rotors and front and back Lucas "sport" pads.

The front rotors are below legal (under 30mm).

Is that a fair price or am I getting fisted?

Secondly, do I even need new rotors? Cant I just get new pads if I'm not doing track work?

thats the problem with running hard race pads is that they chew rotors. its like puck clutches, they wear the steel instead of the pads.

would take very little to install these new rotors yourself. but i know brembo stuff is dear

Im not sure on the part number - Im only getting the standard Brembo front rotors I assume came with the VII??

The cost break down is:

270 (i think?) for the rotors, 190 for front and rear pads and 240 for labour.......

Is that a fair price for the standard rotors?

Supercheap can get all those parts in AFAIK. Protex supplies brembo rotors, TRW are the same as Lucas pads... Might be worth pricing up the parts from them. Sounds a bit on the high side, but not crazy.

check if yours are 320 or 297 mm before ordering. these will be the same as those from supercheap

new disc dont. and depends on condition of rears. even so you can drop them off to be machined for $40ish

if rears are smooth and no/slight grooves then leave them and just put new pads on them. rears only do half the work that fronts do.
personally, if they in good nick but have a edge lip i would just take the lip off with a sanding wheel on the grinder. but that may not be for everyone.

vfaq here. http://www.vfaq.com/mods/BigBrakesInstall.html

you may need to remove some brake fluid from reservoir before pushing brake pistons back in.

sounds pretty ok to me also

the last evo 9 we did all round brembo pads and genuine rotors $3600 fitted

but the brembo pads are around $750 for just the fronts

Getting DBA 4000 slotted fronts and bendix pads (front and back) for 800 installed.....
