Can anyone tell me what the setup is with the gaurds? like the bonnet appears to sit up, and the front quarter appears wider than the fron tbar..genuine gaurds on non genuine bar?

it looks sorta like mine except mines got a rear spoiler and mine doesnt have a lower lip on the front bar which in my oppinion i think without the lower lip looks tough
 
They look like stock cc front guards Jamie.
Seems almost like that drivers side front guard isn't mounted correctly either, see the relationship between it and the indicator?
 
Yeah i can see something is going on there

I spoke to the guy today, he seems like he knows whats going on, hes a panelbeater, he said he had to replace one of the guards, but used only a standard lancer one..maybe thats why?

I dont mind this car...its been resparayed too...
 
standard lancer guards = same as gsr guards.

probably been in a front-on accident of some sort; would explain why its not lining up + resprayed + the guy is a panel beater ;)

that said, it looks fkn sexy as w/o a spoiler! clean & effective

I actually asked him about why those things didnt line up, his reply was...he bought it from a guy that had just done the motor conversion and all was done etc....(he thinks apc did it), but he said the body was a bit of a mess so he went right over it to bare metal (including the roof) and sprayed it all up

It does look good, id slap the wing on it though!
 
It looks like a genuine EVO front bar but its pushed back to try to line up with the guards

Looks simular to a matre of mines GSR on my mate has the dark tail lights and headlights

He said the bar was fibreglass, the bonent is genuine alloy, and the guards, im unsure....have to see why that guard sits like it does....could have damaged reo underneath
 
its a fibreglass front bar
but its a very good copy, because it has the same indents near the guards that a genuine one has.
He should however have bought the evo guards to match it. seems as though he has standard guards.

So you think proper evo guards would see it line up then?

I think the reo may be damaged

I couldnt say if they would directly line up,
But either way you would make them line up, which is pretty straight forward, if you were to get them.
sort of like this. thats how mine was, but i've since lined it up.

I checked out the photos in carsales and I PM'd you what I think. There's a mix of parts under the bonnet. Its definitely an RVR engine due to intercooler bracket on top of the tb mount and the lack of CAS on the back of the engine. Its got a VR4 radiator, some kind of intake pipe I havent seen the style of ribbing before and its missing bits like the purge control solenoid on the firewall (probably due to the aftermarket ECU if its running a standalone loom but if its an E6X with a patch loom then the wiring on the firewall has been played with too much lol). I'd be checking that it actually has got 510cc injectors and a 16g turbo, not RVR 450cc injectors and a 14b turbo lol

Yup he sure does :D

I didnt even know about the RVR CAS bein on the crank until he told me last night

The intake pipe looks to me as its from a VR4 or a 4G61T
