tga

They did OK for a first cut.

They need to become good mates first then it will flow and if we feed them back info about the test track I am sure they will consider it.

I reckon they need that chick from Gasolene on it : ).

I will watch it again cant wait to see what they say about the LEG NUMB! Next lol!

Second episode was heaps better, i thought the smarthearse was a laugh...

GT40 was a great segment and sounded heavenly

PS: GO THE FORDS heheheeh

Thoughts?

agreed, getting a bit better, charlie is still sweating during the interviews though.

it is starting to work, a few more weeks and they will be away properly.

once we get to about episode 4 i reckon you will see a few little changes from the feedback they have been getting

I watched tonights episode just to see the f6 vs the gts.

The thing that gets me is the f6 has launch control and that fella still stuffed it i mean god it aint rocket science. It was nice to see it pulling back.

Plus with the new turbo in the f6 they get full boost at 2700rpm so bugger all lag if any really imo.

Ill keep watching both along as they r funny and road test some nice cars.

I thought they did an alright Job, good to see an old Sydney race track being used also, my mate was doing some of the camera work on the test track part of the episode.

Same...and they couldn't even decide which was better!
But, the 'test' did make one thing clear: they must not think much
of the BF/BG GT V8 Falcon...lol. they didn't even bother testing it
against the HSV.

Overall a gradual improvement.

Don't understand why they were putting a F6 Vs. a clubsport R8. I was expecting a FPV GT Vs HSV GTS, which would have made sense. Who did they end up calling the 'winner'?

And what was the go with the gold mining utes? Did they come to any conclusions last night or did miss them.

They are trying to hard to be TopGear UK, the main host still seams very scripted and uncomfortable.

I believe that SBS is a commercial TV station and they need to get commercial revenue to operate, as such I would be especially surprised if we ever see cars "winning" comparisons. As that writes off chances of having the "loosers" sponsor programs on SBS.

BBC is not funded by advertising as far as I recall.

Hmmmm, I dont think it makes sense at all, you take the cars that sit at around the same price bracket from each maker and compaire them... you dont really compair a GLi to a STi do you?

Most of the comparisons I have read have been GT vs GTS which is pretty boaring as well all know that GT is a little hamstring with its Boss V8.

Ummm... I watched it last night and it felt staged, the jokes were out of time, they werent playing off eachother so freely and fluidly that I felt embarassed for Australia. It may pick up over time with experience but they have got to lay the camera off the main guy so much, I got sick of him pretty quick [no offence intended but there are 2 other guys in the show]. I know these guys have experience in the car industry and racing and good on them, but I reckon we need to have 3 DIFFERENT characters and perosnalities to that of the BBC show, you know, individual guys with their own personalities instead of being modelled (cloned) into somebody else :(

exactly my feelings!

As for the the cars compared, if they were doing a "car for $XX,000" then fair enough. But they tried to make it school-yard to man-hood Holden Vs. Ford. Which IMO should be top line, show your best, from each manufactuer. As for upseting potential sponsers... then they need to lift there game. Whats the point in doing a review/comparison, if your affraid to give a bad review?

I'd prefer to watch 'the car show' with the dude that hosted 'sale of the century' atm...

glenn ridge.. and i dont mind the car show that much either..

Top notch top gear!

Guys you got to feed this back to them!

http://www20.sbs.com.au/sbscorporate/index.php?id=1064

If we want to see more Car shows at prime time then let them know your suggestions. Otherwise it will be regulated back to Sat morning or something.

I dont know but I would rather watch a GT Ford being hammered sideways and a coffin hanging out the back of a SMART car than seeing people dancing or singing.

Feed back have a say in how it should be done! They will listen at this early stage!

It would feel laggy compared to the HSV, any decent n/a engine will have superior throttle response.

I don't mind the show, remember its only early days.
