Hi, to the guys that have done the big brake/brembo conversion.
What size rotors are we using and what are they off.
I already have 5x114 stud pattern. I bought some awd magna rotors at 294mm, but I think the r33 skyline will fit at 314mm ish and/or 350z at 324mm

Seems a waste to make adapters for the calipers and not squeeze in the biggest rotors that fit.

Rears will be around the 300mm mark as well to maintain brake balance.

What have we used?

I run 320x32 evo rotors on the front, (evo 5-9 brembo)
and 300x20 evo rotors on the back. (evo 5-9 brembo)

If you stick with the evo rotors the offsets are correct which makes it a lot easier.

FYI to the mitsubishi 380 rotors are the same size as the awd magnas (which is an evo 4 rotor anyway) but are much thicker.

I've got Alcon 295ish x 25 rotors from Evo 4, I would have gone bigger but got the rotors pretty cheap.
I only have GTO 4 pots not brembos tho

you can buy a conversion to run holden brakes on an fto, now the fto has the same hub as a gsr... so you can put big r8 brakes on a evo =) providing yo like big rims

Well if the evo5 fit at 320 mm, then the evo 10 at 350mm are very similar, with hat height and centre hole and thickness the same. As suggested in the Dba catalogue.
But maybe 350mm is getting a bit silly (even for me) lol

I think the evo5 ones will suit me thanks Dougmo and all.

I looked at all the Holden discs and they all run about 80+mm of hat height. So if you run these the disc will be in the same spot as the ball joint, unless you run 35mm spacer between the Hub and the rotor and this will widen track accordingly and need longer wheel studs and whatever else
Holden astra Vxr turbo at 321mm are closer with 44mm hat height.

But staying mitsi is preferable

With the 5 stud conversion does that also change where the caliper bolts up to the hub as the bolt spacing for the 2 pot calipers on the AWD magna is larger to the spacing on the Evo 1-3 (early magna/verada ) 2 pot brake caliper.

Cheers

depends if you want to just do 5 stud or a brake upgrade at the same time,

if you just want 5 stud you can just do the hubs and use the standard knuckles and bearings

i think its in the caliper. the awd magna has 294mm rotor anyway

i have evo 4 knuckles that have 294mm rotor stock and the brembo and 320mm rotor bolt on

Why not just buy my corvette brake setup =)

330mm rotors with big twin pot alloy calipers.

I'm thinking of downgrading wheels to 15" for some fat rubber.
