Well think im going to try and kill myself for a 2nd time on a bike (road bike this time)

with a budget of $10k would would you buy and why ?

(Never owned a road bike, just dirt bikes)
(For all those that car - 3yrs ago i killed meself when i had a headon with another motorbike (him = 80kph me=120+kph = brickwall stop @ 200kph) 4wks ICU - 4mths off work, and im going to try it all again  )

Aprilia RS250 if you dont' want something too fast.

Yamaha YZF series 600-odd cc if you do.

Anything above 600cc is overkill.

by "too fast" ... an RS250 will still happily top 250+ kmh. just takes slightly longer to get there.

The RS250 is about the fastest 250cc bike you can buy.

I've been riding on and off for about 8 years, and have ridden :

(various trailbikes when I was young)
Honda CB-250
Kawasaki ZZR-250
Kawasaki ZX6R
Suzuki GSXR-750
Honda CBR900RR Fireblade

I"m a big fan of the GSXR750, very nice bike, but I have a soft spot for the CBR900RR blades.. effortless power and they have very nice handling and a nice size too.

That said, I sold my last roadbike, because I didn't want to chance spending the rest of my life in a wheelchair or worse, I LOVE them to death, but I just don't want death to be a by-product of what I love.

hey
just to note

my mate was in an accident while on his new gsxr 750
he basically hit another car, killed the driver of the car (flipped it also, the car was a VL CALAIS) and he came out without being able to use his right arm (was a qualified mechanic)

poor guy, nice dude also
bikes are nice.. but too dangerous

Had a weapon of a GSXR750 but now want a GSXR1000 about 99-00model

they do 0-200 in just over 7 seconds

Pffft I'd get one of the faggety scooters I see the uni students ride around on up here. Look like a complete tool but you cant argue with $5 to fill up 1-2 times a week!

Due to the recent fuel price rises and shit... has anyone started riding their push bike to work or skool?
i might start it doenst cost anything and good for you...
Aswell if u wanna race others its all to do with skill not kilowatts

Go a v twin like a suzuki tlr 1000 or a honda sp1/sp2. Way more torque than your reg thous. Heaps of power down low. Pleasure to ride!!! Awsome for wheelstands too cos the power delivery is so smooth. I've survived two heafty bingles on my bikes in the last 4 years but i'm itching to get another bike. It's a different rush on a bike than the one you get from a quick car.

I'f you are an experienced rider, go straight to the 1000, do not pass go, do not collect $200. You will be kicking yourself when you are out on a ride and a fleet of thous pass you like you aren't even moving on your 600/750.

I'm looking to do a bike conversion on my Cordia (read: lose the Cordz and get a bike). Haven't got my license yet but I'm looking at getting a Suzuki GSX250. Seems like a decent learners/daily work commuter bike.
