Just after some ideas.

I just completed a 4G63 conversion and was wondering?

Do you get boost creep from the standard actuator?

STD it runs about 8 to 10 psi up to 6000 rpm then shoots to 15 or so at 7500rpm

is this normal? or is the actuator stuffed.

I have a IBC 3 but haven't hooked it to the new engine until i have everything running perfect besides no BC will fix this boost creep if the act. is stuffed.

I have seen a pipe welded to the top of the factory manafold for an external WG looked ok but s/s to cast never welds nice. I think a real set of pipes would be best.

Best to fix the problems at hand first

ANyone in brisbane got an old stuffed TD05 i can borrow the actuator from? Could make it worth your while ... I do own a restaurant :D

i have exactly the same problem, except mine is running around 13-14 psi normally, then creeps up to 18psi up high in the rev range..... ive hit boost cut a few times....

have been told the actuator is rooooooted, but its brand new.....

just install my IBC 3 and the thing still only makes 10 psi at normal rev range. (set to 14psi)

I'm going to disconect the actuator boost line completely and see what happens

if i make boost fast than i know it is the actuator

if i make the same than i know it could be a blocked cat, or stuffed turbo!

I have seen the actuator seats completelt burnt out and cracked so with out ripping the dump off i won't know.

WE WILL SEE!

just took the car for a run with the boost line connected to the actuator.

15psi @ 3500rpm and about 18psi 4000rpm and i stopped there

So i would say actuator stuffed or way too sensivive , if not stuffed maybe more preload?

anyway might change it !

some guages are out, it would be best to put it on the dyno

and if you have a vaccum line wrong way around it could happen just as easy

actuator

I have a spare actuator off a small 16 g but it is a 1 bar actuator off a rally car. You are welcome to borrow it if it helps.

I rekon it'll be the wastegate not being able to pump out the exhaust enough.

What dump/exhaust are you running?? 3" all the way??

Maybe the flapper is malfunctioning!!
