DBA cross drilled slotted discs and bendix pads, would that be better than the stock gsr brakes??

i want to get new brakes but dont know what to get.. and the DBA's are only 129 each at autobarn as well.. and bendix pads are 49 bucks

any ideas/suggestions guys?

.

maybe spend a little more on pads, depending on what you do with the car of course.

my car with bendix pads would have them smoking in a few minutes
with some spirited driving which wrecked all the fun, its worth spending the money

i presume you have a cc gsr model. of which it would be really easy to pick up a se of evo/vr4 twin spot rotors, whack on some 276mm rotors and some decent pads and you wil have much better braking. if you dont want to change some good discs and some better pads, ie. something like bendix ultimates or ferodo furmulas are good.

If you dont upgrade to evo/vr4 then buy the best pads you can afford and forget cross drilled, get slotted only rotors. When they get hot they crack at the drill holes.

Slotted RDA rotors and Bendix pads are a big improvement over the stock brakes, even if its still possible to get them smoking after a few consecutive BIG braking exersizes. Thats a few more than whats possible with the standard brakes.

As others have said depends on your driving style and what you want from the car. Some Ferodo DS2000 (I think) are very good pads in a motorkhana situation.

I changed to DBA slotted rotors at the front and rear, bendix rear pads and ebc green stuff up front, also got braided brake lines. and in comparison to standard setup, it stops, i think in half the distance from any speed.
so yeh i think it is money well spent.

good luck

thanks for the responses guys, and yeah i really cant afford much at the moment.. guess the slotted and bendix would have to do, ill see what other more expensive bendix pads they have..

but before that i have to change my front shocks.. monroes are only 100 dollars.. is that cheap?

I went with RDA's (pretty sure that is what they were), and got the FTO twin calipers.. All went on with no probs... Was pretty cheap too ....

RDA Slotted Rotors are on average 40% cheaper than DBA rotors...

DBA rotors (slotted) average 125 ish dollars each.

RDA rotors (slotted) average 160 dollars FOR THE PAIR.

RDA Rotors grip pads better but are softer in general and don't last quite as long. Frankly I think rotors will warp before I wear through them the way I treat my brakes. Hah.

so dba or rdas..?

if dba's last longer, ill go for them..

which brake better? and slotted only yeah? not cross drilled..?
