Hey Guys

After the mrs sold her GSR she is now looking for an RVR (non turbo unfortunately, although just for shits and giggles i have taken a couple of turbo ones for test drives to try convince her :))

Now she is quite keen on a 1999 non turbo 2.4 GDI Sports Gear.
Drove down to took if for a test drive and had a horrible shudder under acceleration as though it wasnt firing on all 4. Took to a mechanic down there and he mentioned this was common for a GDI motor if they sit for some time. The owner left the car at the mechanics and have just advised that they have left it running for a few hours each day and everything is all good now.

Just keen to hear if anyone else has any other info on the GDI aspect of the motor, after a bit of research im getting mixed reviews about it

Here is a link to the specific car, not that it has much detail about the car.

That's a nice looking 99 model. If you don't mind the 98 tiptronic, this one is
a 2ltr like a GTA driveline.

Yea there is a Manual one around the corner from us that i just knocked on the door to see if he would sell and funnily enough he was looking to sell it in the coming months, would be cool to have since having previously owned the N23W Turbo Manual Model, but mrs is looking to be a bit more grown up with her money and go for the econimical and cheaper insurance route.

that blue one is realy tidy though, for what they are 6k is a great buy,

cheers

GDI are known to have their issues... i'd stick with a 4G63T! What about an Airtrek?
