Hey guys,

At a time when I feel like trading my car for a Honda Jazz, I put it to you and ask, what do you love and hate about your car?

Mat :)

- that its mine.
- that its so damn sexy (Even tho it is farked and needs a respray and in pieces, she always a woman to me.)

I don't know Matt, but we have all been there, most of us more than once. You just have to look deep inside yourself to see what you really want/need. If you are just being a crying little bitch then you will get over it or if you realise that this car is the sole thing holding you back from taking over the world then you should get rid of it.

Everyone is different.

Goodluck with the Jazz mate, see you at Drag day!!

Why don't you pick up a second car as a daily?

I grew to hate my car when I drove it to and from work - 110kms a day with no aircon, solid engine mounts, cams and a twin plate clutch - the thing shit me no end in traffic, not to mention I was spending $150-$200/week in fuel.

I picked up a cheap run about which none of the above, and used it to get to and from work, and from then on, every time I got back into the lancer, I loved it. It also dropped my fuel bill to about $50/week, and reduced expenditure in servicing and maintaining it.

It's more than that too - now days when the lancer shits itself, I know I don't have to rely on it to get me around, so I'm happy for it to spend a few weeks holed up in the garage while I get some cash together, or have no problems dropping it off at a workshop for a while.

That's an idea I'm starting to take more and more seriously! A motorbike could be a good runabout too.

I love my car, but it's such an effort to drive when I'm tired, doesn't really appreciate being driven in traffic too much and I'm never ever satisfied with it. There's always something that needs to be done! :p

i love thats its fairly reliable...gets me from a to b almost all of the time...

i hate that its not all that fast(probably for the best tho :  )

....definately get a daily
early 90s camrys work well, theyre cheap to buy, and u just cant kill them...my mates got one with 300000+kms and its still going strong...

what do i hate about my car? the fact the fkn thing hasnt been driven in well over 6 months :(

The thing i love , when it's back and running fine , every little drama i had will be worth it.. i love my car

nick

dont get me started

like Steve has said, if you had a daily drvier I think your perspective would change dramatically.

you need to find yourself a little CB GSR :)

I want to find an auto cc sedan to replace my current daily actually - they're just priced way too high.

Mostly so I can steal all the interior parts for the gsr

see this is also where age plays a part.

when i had my evo 1 i practically only drove 6mths worth and the rest was spent at the workshop and when i got it back something else would go wrong so i ended up fixing it and selling it.

now i got a newer model everythings sweet, i dont mind it sitting in the workshop getting mods but to sit in there constantly cos something is old n needs replacing really annoys me.

Its good when you go from driving a shitbox, and then go for a boost- makes your car feel heaps faster!

haha i got an 87 camry with 270000kms.. drives like fkn new
its been in the family now for like 10 years so i know the kms are genuine, and still original motor.. theyre ugly, but TOP run arounds if anyone was thinkin of one

Buy a stocker and put all the bits you didnt use in it and buy cheap parts from forums like kits, brakes, springs and mags etc to make it look sexy like my Mrs' daily driver. Its an Executive sedan and I chucked in EVO black interior and power windows and a 2003 Proton Gti engine only done 25,000kms (drives awesome and quiet) and its supersweet, cheap to run and still got that EVO look to get you from A-B in style 8) All up this car only owes me about $6k :D Next I gotta tint the windows so no one can see me driving it  Better than a CE Lancer or Mirage for the same price anyday!!

dont do it!

I have just sold my VR4 bout a couple of months ago... And i brought a n14 sss pulsar as a daily... I farken hate it to bits... it rattles and everything about it pisses me off, bar cold AC haha!

BUT I sold it for a reason, and I spose if the reason is justifiable, then u gotta do what u gotta do...

Something to think about.

P.S. if u have enough funds, by a nice daily and keep the beat untill u get bored of it.. then UPGRADE!!

love = it is fast, comfy, looks hot, handles so well, is an evo
hate = it's not sold and i need cash

they only last that long if they have been looked after though
