Chip Torque Performance - XEDE Processor

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

It's in a bitch of a place Mike hey. Did you just want the id numbers EVOgsr? It's MD#%&# first line and E2or3#%$# on the second line for the manual hsgr.

Dave mertz is something to do with ecmlink and says;
dmertz Administrator Join Date: Jan 2002Location: Rockville, MDPosts: 18,518I've finished reading Banish's first book and I'm a good way through his second book. The first one is probably the most useful to the general ECMLink user and the second is geared more toward someone here who wants to either use speed-density or spend a good deal of time optimizing ECMLink's the Direct Access fuel and timing tables for their particular car.Banish talks the same language we do; most of the jargon is the same. You'll find that many of the concepts that Tom and I have learned through developing ECMLink and have passed along in these forums are discussed in nearly the same words in Banish's books. As we do here over and over again, Banish stresses the importance of getting accurate airflow readings and fuel delivery modeling into the ECU, avoiding changing an airflow reading to fix a fuel delivery modeling issue or vice versa unless there is no reasonable alternative. Although Banish's customer base consists more of GM and Ford owners, the concepts are presented in general terms that apply to any system. If you've read a lot of what's in the forums here, you'll find a lot of what he says familiar. But unlike the forums where everything is presented in individual snippets, Banish's books are laid out so that one can follow methodically from ECU inputs to outputs.Dave

The book is:"Engine Management and Advanced Tuning" by Greg Banish

The forum is really good, I got a transferred membership from Dave when I bought his Evo 3 ECU setup, membership transfers to new owner, how good is that!

This sounds like good bedtime reading for me, I'm only 3 weeks away from putting a 63t in my "steaming pile of R", I picked up a runner with 100k on it to throw in so I can play around with ECMlink before I unleash myself on the new

engine. I'll run SD as well so this book might be worth it's weight in gold for ECMlink

Looks like the sonata engine will be the backup engine for the backup engine now Jack :p

Sd is actually pretty good (it seems) on ecmlink. Id get it sorted with a afm first (to ascertain your airflow) then swap to sd. Also sd will give you a extra loggable input as you dont need the barometric sensor. Id change it up to a map sensor.

This is all a bit much for me I think, I might have to take the car to Chip Torque I think haha. It seems pretty expensive though, $1900 for either chip torque(XEDE Processor) or Hi Torque (UNICHIP) Either that or take evo-gsr up on his offer!

Yea man, I'm not particularly enthused to pay this much, would much rather get Jamo's EVO Ecu if its fairly simple to install.

You can burn a one off chip for a bayed ecu (as per jamo) but will need to redo the chip when you mod more.
Ecmlink needs a bayed ecu as well. But you can fiddle the tune as required. You have the ecmlink prices?
Also, you could get your ecu bayed. Most tv repair guys can do it.
Getting a late evo ecu is the cheapest, but I dont think its a beginners option.
Edit. A meek chip in a bayed ecu is cheapest.

For me, ecmlink is simple enough for me to learn esp with the forum support (and my new book)
I firmly suggest a innovate mtx as well. It has a gauge in the cab and can replace your narrowband or it can work as a wideband with ecmlink.
For you, if you only plan 1 lot of upgrades and happy with a pretty close tune, maybe the chip is a valid choice.
I should put the chip back in mine and run it on 1/4 mile for comparison to ecmlink self tune.

For $80 Jack, a tuning session on a Thursday arvo at the RAC center is well worth it. As many 3rd gear pull as you can manage in 2hrs, no cops ............... and a coffee machine.

MC motor sport run these at least once a month. It's good value for us Perthites.

(Wow, post looks really out of place!! Should of keep reading to page two!)

Pretty sure I have a 7701 as well. Also a 055 and 510cc chip and I can soon bay the ecu to suit. Caps have been done and I can test run it with a video.
If someone wants it. But its $20 dearer than jamo wants for his.

Will you get 100mph on the back straight?
Drags used to be $40 and cooler air and more than 2hrs maybe 4hrs?

Edit. 5:30 till 10pm for $55
180km is achievable on the straight if your good on the brakes. Is that the Wednesday night thing they do at the strip? From all accounts you spend more time waiting in the line on a busy night. If you want to get proper data for tuning, you need to see what's happening at part throttle, accel enrichment and other parts of the map when it's not just WOT. For a street-able car anyway, strip cars I guess it doesn't matter that much.

All the idle and part throttle is done. Im driving it no worries. Full throttle is close for fueling and no knock. Just gotta add some timing back in.
180 with good brakes? Do you think single pot 276mm front disc and cat food tin rear drums is good brakes?
The drags im sure gets busy. Last time I went it was back to back runs till 6:30. Slowed down after that.
