i put a new exedy clutch in my gsr 93, its been bled thru and all that but wen i press the clutch down it just seems to be blocked,
it goes down a tiny bit till id takes up the play in the pedal then nothing! its just stuck.

im a very upset boi, its been suggested to put a washer on the fork, but im clueless on how this procedure takes place!

what type of excedy clutch?? same thing happend to me somthing needed to be modifed on the clutch before installing. mine's a heavy duty cushion button there should be some info about it on the Instructions. the mechanic say'd he missed it and he had to pull it back out and fix it..

Heres some ideas for u.

Make sure theres no clutch fluid leaks, and that all the airs out of the system.

Make sure the firewall isnt flexing as it can when hd clutches are installed.

Most people recomend that the pivot ball be replaced when doing a clutch change. The washer thing is just a quick fix.

Clutch fork or thrust bearing could be screwed.

Or you could just take it to a mechanic :D

You don't have a evo pedal box with the cantilever helper spring on it??

If you do the pedal will stay on the floor when bleeding the clutch you will need to physically pull it back to the the disengaged position.

the washer your speaking of goes under the pivot ball. you will need to take the gearbox out and remove the pivot ball to install the washer, then put the whole thing together again. yep it is a pain and Its happened to me too. however my clutch went all the way down to the floor as usual but did not disengage. so that may not be the problem.

-with the clutch pedal in the up position open the bleed valve on the slave and see if fluid spurts out. if it does then shorten the adjustable rod on the master cylinder to pedal as the piston is being held over return port in the cylinder body.

-Have someone push the clutch pedal while you look at the slave cylinder, check movement of slave pushrod.

-the piston in the slave maybe jammed.

-unbolt the slave and SLOWlY depress clutch and check for full travel on the slave piston stroke and matercylinder. if you get full travel then both clutch master cylinder and slave are ok and not the problem. if not then its one or the other.

-with the slave unbolted see wether the clutch fork moves smoothly.
