coil packs

i got some brand new aftermarket coil packs today and i found when i installed them the evo would not start:fuuuuu:
when i rang them to tell them the problem they told me to do a series of tests
1-install both coil packs tightly and crank(i got nothing)

2-take off one of the a/m coils and replace with one stock then start (i got it started and it idled differently....but drove like shit)

3-take off the existing a/m coil and replace with other a/m coil(it started the same and drove like shit again)

opinions?

plugs are good
leads are good by the way

are they plug and play or are they multi coil that will require extra igniters etc....

is it only 2 coils though hary or 4?

if its just 2 replacement ones like the stock ones then i would guess that you would have faulty coils?

if it was running fine until you changed the coils you would have to put 2 and 2 together,

yeh theyre replacement 2 coil setup george....yeh i was thinkin theyre faulty but i thought maybe tuning had something to do with it(maybe) so i thought id ask everyone first

nah i would suggest they may be faulty harry....not the best start.

are they willing to send you another set?/exchange?

yeh that wont be a problem....i spoke to them on the phone and they assured me they would but asked to perform tests first.....no probs i will send them back tomorow for new ones....theyre a good product but knowing my luck id cop the shit ones:thumbsdown: fail

So it works well with the stock coils but doesn't work at all with the aftermarket ones?

What did you get?
M&W coil over plug?

Or aftermarket but oem fit stuff?

If it is plug and play, it should do just that...

Something is not right with them...

yeh superspark coils.....i know heaps of people runnin them and they are good but i know nobody with the evo ones......and yeh theyre plug and play, i sent them back today so nex week i should have another new set .....we shall see

hard to tell with that sort of stuff so im just replacing both.....it seems alot of things went wrong when the motor went.....but soon itll be sorted, mint and reliable .....im onto the fuker

The stock VI coil packs can hold quite a bit of power. 300+ kw atw.
