welcome =)

i was considering a mazda 6 mps but i didnt eventually get one love how the mazda sp23 looks.

im going a 6.5 after the golf.

i managed a 14.565 @ 93.31mph with a 60ft of 1.959 in full stock trim before i fell sick and couldnt drive.

but then again my cars awd.

golf R32 is a great car.... 6cyl in a small car rocks! i wish i can afford one... that or 147 GTA.... lol but 60000 price tag will kill me :(

yeah it may be a small car but the car weighs about 1590?

im selling mine for 47k =)

its a great car though love it to death just that i need to free up some cash.

but i will be getting a 6.5

ive had a 1 before

but my suggestion is if u can afford a newer one go for it.

i may get another older evo down the track but it would only purely be for track.

yeah the right lane mph at heathcote is totally off!..

i remember it recorded me doing 125mph in one of my 13s pass!..

tharaka: lol... no way..... stock AUSspec s15 making 100-110rwkw depending on the dyno and weather.... 140kw thats probably at the flywheel or thats probably the JapSpec S15 rwkw.... my sp23 making 137kw at the flywheel, up from 115kw at flywheel (109.7kw atw up from stock 92kw atw)

joe-ness: thx bro.... im selling it soon... i broke the gearbox back in december, snapped 1 engine mounts, CV joint, and drive shaft.... and 5 months after, i blew the gearbox, another driveshaft, and this time 2 engine mounts.... thats why i told my self i better get a stronger car....

UPDATE: hmmmm my eyes are set to Mazda3 MPS at the moment.... 190KW / 380Nm stock... 13.9sec 0-400m, pity its a FWD only.... but the good thing is i can transfer 80% of all my mods from my Mazda3 SP23 to this car... coilover, 6pot Wilwood caliper, bracing, etc.... yum!

Hey dude!

I saw your car on the back of a truck going down springvale rd!

I also saw a new MPS last night, they look hot, and sound pretty nice too....

How do you figure out how much power your car has at the flywheel? Guess or do you have a flywheel dyno? :D

115 would be a factory claim?

i apologise for not explaining myself properly...

i get the figure by calculation of drive train loss... since im always going to the same dyno (PROTEK at preston) all the times after every mods i put... so all the dyno result are pretty much accurate for my own comparison...

first i have to do the stock dyno to find out the drive train loss... so here is what i get:
my stock car is 115kw at flywheel (factory claim) and from my stock dyno = 92kw atw

so drivetrain loss is: 115kw - 92kw = 23kw

thats mean drive train loss in percentage 23kw/115kw x 100% = 20%
20% drive train loss is expected in FWD

so thats mean the dyno figures gonna always be around 80% of the flywheel kw... (ofcourse weather, humidity, and other factory gonna affect it... but wont make that big of a different in small power NA FWD)

next dyno is 100kw atw (intake + catback)
at the flywheel is 100kw / 80% = around 125kw at the flywheel

next dyno is 104.7kw atw (intake + catback + resonator removal + hiflo cat)
at the flywheel is 104.7kw / 80% = around 130.8kw at the flywheel

my last dyno is 109.7kw atw (intake + catback + resonator removal + hiflo cat + 4-1 header)
at the flywheel is 109.7kw / 80% = around 137.1kw at the flywheel

i hope this explanation makes sense... :)

nice looking 3!
is that a sunroof? if so why havent you got it down? would be less air restriction and may have improved your times.
Also are you SURE the 108mph is right? Even grannying a car 108mph should push you into the 14s zone easily..... so I am in doubt whether the 108mph is correct as mazda 3s are quite heavy and the power you have at the wheels will never propel the 3 down 400m at 108mph.
Hurry up and get an evo (a real car!) :D
