my sp23 making 137kw at the flywheel, up from 115kw at flywheel (109.7kw atw up from stock 92kw atw)
How do you figure out how much power your car has at the flywheel? Guess or do you have a flywheel dyno?
i apologise for not explaining myself properly...
i get the figure by calculation of drive train loss... since im always going to the same dyno (PROTEK at preston) all the times after every mods i put... so all the dyno result are pretty much accurate for my own comparison...
first i have to do the stock dyno to find out the drive train loss... so here is what i get:
my stock car is 115kw at flywheel (factory claim) and from my stock dyno = 92kw atw
so drivetrain loss is: 115kw - 92kw = 23kw
thats mean drive train loss in percentage 23kw/115kw x 100% = 20%
20% drive train loss is expected in FWD
so thats mean the dyno figures gonna always be around 80% of the flywheel kw... (ofcourse weather, humidity, and other factory gonna affect it... but wont make that big of a different in small power NA FWD)
next dyno is 100kw atw (intake + catback)
at the flywheel is 100kw / 80% = around 125kw at the flywheel
next dyno is 104.7kw atw (intake + catback + resonator removal + hiflo cat)
at the flywheel is 104.7kw / 80% = around 130.8kw at the flywheel
my last dyno is 109.7kw atw (intake + catback + resonator removal + hiflo cat + 4-1 header)
at the flywheel is 109.7kw / 80% = around 137.1kw at the flywheel
i hope this explanation makes sense...
