hey guys
im just re-wiring my CAS, some wires have broken off..

does anybody have the pinouts?

4 pins

trigger pin
12v
gnd
on other?

there are 2 black
one red
one white or yellow

last piece of the puzzle, i should be able to start the car after this

Open it up, you will likely be able to figure it out.
But there are of coarse 2 sensors in there, it is a 4+2 configuration.

i think i've figured it out
i think i have the ecu sorted

the only problem now
adjusting the timing

base timing should be 8 degrees btdc right?
also
how many markings do the stock crank pullies have?

i've only got 1 mark, which is the 0 degree's TDC mark, atm its pretty much matched up to 0 degree's tdc on the timing cover and the cam gear dowel pins are pointing staight up when the mark is on 0..

now, (note i haven't ever really played with timing on any car) but ideally i would want that mark to hit the 8degree mark on the cover right?

and doing this should be done via the cas, and i have to basically adjust the wolf to display what i see on the pulley and a timing light correct??

anyways, its a little confusing to read, but any advice is appreciated.

tried to get it firing yesterday, but i think timing is off.. it would just back fire (but not into the exhaust, but out of the inlet manifold..)

i m thinking its igniting too soon

Your CAS wants to be set at the point it starts best (with no correction by the ecu, as it wont do any correction untill after a revolution or 2).
This should be as per stock (5 deg BTDC)

to set this you need to get the car running, set the ecu to "zero" and align the spark to 5* by adjusting the CAS.

Then you need to get the ECU reading/showing the same as the timing light, by adjusting the ECU's offset. this should only change what is displayed by the ECU, and not change the actual timing.

thanks for that cam..

but just a question,
shouldn't i be setting the ecu to 5 and see 5 at the light?

Baz, I'm not 100% sure, but if the wolf has 40 deg of timing control ( 20 advance, 20 retard), then 20 would be 0deg. ie 0 would be 20deg btdc and 40 would be 20deg atdc. Pretty sure thats how mine works.( I have a wolf running mine)
