So what at what point do you say is too much?
I spoke to chris a t meek and he said that if you can get around .8-1mm by pulling on the harmonic balancer, crankwalk is there a bit but likely isnt an issue.
over 1.5 mm he said becomes a problem.... 2mm plus is a fair problem.
Im having a 7 bolt car inspected tommorow, im gonna see what it comes up at...i dont expect a 10 year old car to have no movemnet though, and from factory, there needs to be some clearance as well, agree?

Crankshaft end float ,Standard value: 0.05 – 0.25 mm
Limit: 0.4 mm.
