I know there is a lot of contention about how and why it happends and what motors etc. But can anybody tell me .. why does the clutch point change on a left turn and not a straight or right hand turn?

in all the forums and docs written one of the symptoms is clutch point changing on a left turn... how

I have that symption! 74000 kms EVO II

I have spoken to a company who is very repretable in the 4g63 building industry (i mean some serious motors) and they say i wouldn't have crank walk , you get it from BIG motors not really standard ones. And I would guess after building 100 motors or so from mild to wild they would some expierence in the mater.

So there is my delamer, I have a clutch that almost goes to the floor but does enguage! on every LEFT turn but is OK with any right turn or straight.

Any Ideas?

the clutch is new! I'm using a GSR g/box all was OK with the 1.8ltr motor

it is a 7 bolt motor,

the company i spoke too said i read too much!

I need help or ideas anyway!

thanks

no idea buddy

sounds strange to me..
im just wondering how turning left would cause the engine to do anything?
full left = power steering load = load on crank pulley??

full left = drive shafts turning, but i dont see how that would effect anything else

you've got me stumped!!

it's probably a few loose bolts.

When you apply power the engine torques to the passenger side so it's probably pulling the clutch disc off the pressure plate.

Check your engine mounts?

Arrrr ... checked it out this morning

The crank moves lateraly 2.17 mm (crank walk) luckly the motor was only purchased 1 month ago, the ppl a got the 1/2 cut off are going to have a look at it 4th january 2006

it will be interesting to what they say?

if it is to be "ENGINE WEAR" than it should be covered under their warranty, but we will wait and see what they find on the break down,

And also to their credit no labour change to me!

We will see how long it takes from start to when i get my car back!
