Well if i's not funny Jamie, than I'm a tad concerned that you're just laughing to yourself over nothing. People have been 'committed' for less strange activities
.
Seriously though Jamie, it really is funny and I have no problems with anyone laughing at the hilariousness of the bad-luck that befell me.
Sheez, you'd have to be pretty uptight not to even crack a smile at the irony of moving the car from the middle of Ipswich of all places, onto the base so that things wouldn't be stolen off it, only to then have the car broken into and have both front seats, steering wheel, gear knob, sub-box, amp and mags stolen at once. You just gotta laugh at such ironical twists like that when their dished out.
With 20-20 hindsight (the best sight there is
) I think that what they were attempting to do was delay the discovery by Security that the car had been broken into, but for what purpose I'm not sure (perhaps just enough time to get off-base). A car up on blocks with no wheels & engine parts spread on the ground behind it would arouse interest from the security police who patrol the area. I don't know how much time they had (or thought they had), or if they knew ahead of time that the 13" rims wouldn't fit over the brake discs, but hats-off to them for being ballsy enough to pretty much strip a car on a Military Base
.
Can you imagine the looks on their faces when they first discovered that the 13" rims wouldn't fit because of the discs. They would obviously be trying to be as quick as possible, and now they'd have to spend even more time pulling the discs off just to fit the smaller rims to cover their tracks. The VR4, once again, proves to create a challenge to anyone attempting to work on it - even those who are pilfering parts.
.......
p.s. Sweet Ride Jamie. Black cars look the best, but are a bitch to keep them looking that way. Looking forward to meeting ya if I get the chance to let you help out.
p.p.s. Jerome, that's a reasonable price for a rear spoiler, especially one with a brake light, and if I was wanting a standard vr4 rear spoiler I'd be interested. I'm just not inclined to put a standard spoiler back on as I'm not that pleased with how they look. Thanks again for the offer though Jerome.
