no worries mate...drop by when your ready.

stroker time?
Id love a stroker, to spool up a gt35r (or my new smaller hx35) like its nothing, but its all the flow on costs from all that torque that shred's your driveline, especially how i drive, plus id have to go a twin plate as well, im thinking keep it simple and keep it 2L.
Mahle 4032 material pistons and eagle rods I'm thinking. These pistons have the most Si of the aftermarket pistons, so not as detonation resistant as say a wiseco hd but expand the least so that would be great for a "daily" so i can still drive it as a daily rather than worrying about warming it up a lot before i take off, i always baby it till warm anyway.
A step up from say an evo 8 piston but don't have to run a large PTW clearance as something that will expand more from lower Si content. That's my thinking at the moment anyway.

Anyway im buying my mates 250 road bike and getting my license, to get around on for the summer, oh no......

The pics of the starter motor are interesting. My motor blew a month back different cyl by the looks of things. Hole in side of block and bits through the sump. But my starter motors actuator has cone off aswell. Ha ha ha. Wtf?

I liked it better when I called it a socket because it doesnt sound as bad as a gudgeon pin
You know, its all fun and games with modified cars. Wouldnt be so bad if it wasnt so draining on the wallet too

do you need a block, milky?
i got a sonata long motor here, no squirters, if you need.
i can get another
I have a spare vr4 motor i been sitting on for this reason, its done som km's so a freshen up or a full build are the way to go.

did someone say beer?
haha, let me finish off this busy week first.

haha thanks, yeah i wish it was just a socket! it was boung to happen anyway some day so i wasnt to upset.
To be honest ill be on uni holidays soon and i can bust my ass over the holidays and earn money, that can be done, its more the time spent in the garage late at night to work on the car, instead of going out with mates, not goin away on holiday so i can pump money into the car, i was starting to get over a bit. I keep wanting more an more power its an addiction but i was thinking now and then maybe take it easy. But now its either fully forged and go at it or a stock freshen up for the spare motor and cant get too power hungry.
And also the time not driving the car. I was really enjoying driving it again, gets the blood pumping for sure!

I wont know until i putt it down, I don't think it was due to heat or detonation, considering the spark plug on the failed cylinder isn't melted, it isn't white from heat, its still a nice bronze colour like the rest of the cylinders, they are just now all covered in fresh oil. Looking at the head and pistons will tell later on though.

So something like balance shaft bearings, or rod bolts maybe.

Either way ill pull it down later, I'm sure there will be some interesting pics, and everyone loves engine destruction pics!

Thanks for the offer Brian, I Almost already made my mind up on the piston-rod combination. I was meaning to call today, i think its time for a beer!

What can i say bro I have never seen any thing like it only in Australia a bro =)

Wasnt from too much power, i was flowing 42lb/min, estimating 9hp produced per 1lb/min of air as a guide, that around close to around 380hp on a pump fuel tune.

Seems people can make 200+hp more on E85 buring cooler ect and keep them in one piece if nothing goes wrong.

it all really depends where in the rev range your making the power, its big torque down lower in
the rev range that breaks shit, if you progressivly bring in the boost and make the torque higher up
it will hold together for longer

Thats just a good excuse to go big turbos now isnt it:D
Your old motor was a torque monster wasnt it!

that sucks mate looks like we will both be doing rebuilds over summer.I have some eagle rods here that I wont need just have to rip em out of the motor and get em checked.

Cheers but ill get new stuff if im gonna go to the effort of building the motor. Swaying towards a 2.3 build atm....
