Does Galant 4g63 gearbox fit up to the GSR 1.8L without any issues?

As per title, is it a simple bolt off bolt on ?

probably not as well as the ratio's are different unless you change that , transfer and rear diff

the problem with those older gearboxes is the mounts.

It will bolts up....but your GSR needs the roll stopper mounts on the gearbox. Whereas the Galant has the roll stopper mounts at the back of the engine.

so ....whilst it is possible to bolt up....unless you want to make some custom mounts....it cant be used

I guess that it is indeed a good design as it allows the humble galant to be fitted with the "evolution" gear box. Obviously an evolution has improved the breed

No. Gear ratios are different. But your can make it work with some changing of parts
