Im aiming to race on this night, just need to fit the latest mods, just as well its holiday season.

Who else will run the gauntlet with me?

Ok, I will be there.. more time for fine tuning would've been good, but there's always next time.. its time to race!

anyone going to confirm their attendance?

Ha, good to see "EVLGRL" there (not from this forum) she did a 12.7 that I saw as her first run eva!

It certainly was a test n tune night for me, problems galore... no P.B achieved more like a W.B (worst best, lol).. including psteer belt split...

I'll be back for more punishment and hopefully a new P.B :)

Ok, Im ready, Tune sorted, gearbox niggle sorted.

Now relying on good weather, drags were called of this week. See you wednesday night (Jan 12th)

Who's coming?

Open to the Public

Its a "Whoop Ass Wednesday" Competitor entry opens at 5pm racing from 6pm cost $45 to race, racing till 10pm.

Competition Entry closes at 8pm or 160 cars. If your in the line up to race at 6pm (meaning gone thru scrutineering already) you get an average of 6 races before 9pm dependant on how many cars turn up. They stop drag racing for 15mins to allow 4 cars to do a massive burnout in "the snake pit" then most racers leave after that and you can usually get a race every 10 to 15 mins after 9pm its cool...

Point to note: the radiator overflow is not allowed to vent or dump to "the road", funny as it seems, securing a 'coke' bottle even with zip ties to the overflow tube is acceptable.

And make sure you have a pretty good helmet, i Had a Brand new sparco helmet ( cost $660 ) i bought from the uk and they almost didnt let me use it. it only had the british standards sticker on it and not the aussie one,,

Hmm ... i'm very keen for a race but 1. dunno if I'll pass the inspection or not 2. dun wanna be racing with some mustang that has 600 horses 3. I lost my helmet T-T

^^ you're technically not racing the 600hp mustang, go have some runs and see what time you can get then try to improve on it :)

OK, I'm so keen on going but it is very unlikely to happen ... just noticed that this Wednesday is my birthday lol (yes I did forget for a moment there), and as a result of that my workmates gonna be forcing some beer into me after work ... so really, don't think I'll be able to come  ... anyway, for those who are going, good luck n have fun ;)

With the helmets, i brought one for $90 that meets more then one of the standards they ask for , the info is on their web site somewhere which standards they are, most the new full face helmets i looked at at bike shops met them.

Off my head it needs to be at least one of these two, "snell 2000" or Aus/NZ standard number xxxxx

"milkandoj" - ur gearbox is fixed.... come to the drags and test its strength hehe ^_^ ^_^

no one to commit...?

Best I could get was 12.34 sec and 2.01 60ft.

Engine would "cackle and pop" with above 20psi... I think its engine water temperature related (engine not quite upto operating temp), tested this theory on the drive home and it appeared to work... Will be changing to a slightly hotter theromostat.... AND... then try again..

Had the 14's on, next time I will keep the 17's on (rolling diameter is nearly 1 inch bigger) means should be able to hold fourth across the line..

Trial and error, is part of the fun.

what is you rev limit set to sam? I am looking at some better valve springs for the 93 I am building. They should be good for 8750....they have a good bottom end...as good as a 4age and they will run 9500 with careful building.

Yep I know it will run out of puff up there but could at least run across the line in 4th
