drug legalisation - opinions

Making it in bulk will make it way easier to sell it cheaper then mr backyard could hope to make it for.

What about the otherside of the coin and banning all "party" drugs (including alcohol & tabacco)??

Makes it fair but is that what the general community wants?

Right now drugs are at a crossroad... Either we take their illegal use more seriously, and enforce a heftier penalty on offenders [ such as jail time ], or we empathise with the substance and their following and legalise, regulate and moderate their legal manufacture and distribution.

The latter would see jobs created, the minimalisation of shitty pills out there [ and there's heaaaaaps ], and an overall safer clubbing community. I mean, we all know smoking and drinking is responsible for the deaths of Australians... so it'd would be hypocritical to state that "party" drugs are just too dangerous. Consuming of drugs can result in injury or death due to their poor manufacture, the use of shitty ingredients and a lack of personal threshold/overall drug knowledge of the taker.

I can certainly see why conservative -and older- people would frown upon such a proposal. It's also worth noting that if this notion was followed, a new tax would, too.

Haha while a very good point, drug use has been at a "cross roads" for just about ever. Different drug, different situation.

Very true!

I strongly disagree with things like heroin and amphetamines being legalised, but thing's like MDMA/Ecstacy aswell as pot (not that I have any interest in it) being made available.

MDMA is considered safe by many "experts" in the medical field so long as the people take it are educated about the effects it can have on your body and know what to do if they do experience any negative effects, such as dehydration

Yes Mat I agree, MDMA and Pot should be legal... It's the garbage like Ice and speed that the legalisation would ultimately wipe out in the long run... Why risk it on a possible "bad batch" of the stuff [and it'd still be illegal, too] when the safer, cleaner, legal MD or Pot is readily available.

That'd exclude people who are addicted and/or need a "harder" hit, but there will always be minorities unreachable in many situations; not just drugs.
