E3 intercooler inlet and outlets

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

i have used the 63m ends on my standard cooler with the turbo outlet pipe to match up to the cooler pipes.

imo its a must do at least on the intercooler itself.

in this pic the tab that the over pipe sits on in pic, I've removed it, as its not needed. This allows the pipe to sit parallel to the top of the cooler

also if this was a gsr and has been converted to a 63 you will need to cut away around where the over pipe goes though the rad support.

I'm also thinking you may have to remove the tag on the intercooler which has the fixing point for the factory pipe so that the new and larger pipe will sit flush. I had to remove mine to allow the MEEK pipe to sit properly.

Way ahead of you Wicki!:p

The whole front end is a genuine EVO radiator support that was welded into the car.

You will still need to cut it down some :rolleyes:or the 63mm new pipe wont align correctly.

Hmmmm time to get the big bar out and have a bit of a bend I think, still waiting to get my intercooler back at the moment, then I am going to sort out my boost lines / vac lines.

Here is that extra hose(Circled in red) that was connected to the original boost side of the pipe(near the bov).

I assume this is where I need to bend out the rad support panel as well.

Thats your EGR valve maybe post up a separate thread on what the best way to remove it is as I am wanting to get rid of it also. Basicly it is anti polution gear...

i got a egr blockoff plate here spare if anyone wants it,

I'll grab it off you and the Balance shaft eliminator kit if you still have that also.
Let me kno a total price including postage to me at 3194 for these please.
Cheers, Richard.

Well I did some searching but could not find any details about why you want to block it off, anyone have any ideas, I assume there could be some slight power gain as you would not be re-circulating the exhaust gases but...

I doubt the benefit you'd get from it would offset the cost and mucking around to do it.

vfaq has a pretty good writeup on the EGR block-off mod.

Nah I haven't done mine, I'm just going off what I've read from vfaq and from talking to some of the guys at work in the powertrain group.

Anyone know the size of the silicone elbow I need to get to attach the throttle body to the 63mm pipe? I am pretty sure it needs to be 70mm or so.

meausure it up lol.
isnt a stock t/b 63mm?
should match up diameter wise.
just measure it length and width wise and purchase the one you need.

i think its a weird size, if you still have you standard hose you can just trim it up.

but

how soon do you need it? i may have my silcone one for sale in the nearish future, looks like i wont be using too much of my meek kit after all.

What kind of timeframe are you thinking, I would be after in the next few days :D
