Any recommendations on EBC for my HSGR?

I'm getting sick and tired of my manual Turbosmart dual stage controller spiking and not holding the correct boost settings..

I don''t need a mega $$$ item, just one that has a quality solenoid that prevents boost spikes.

Eboost is probably the way to go, but it's exxy.
Simply put, you get what you pay for.

What are the HKS EVC V Electronic boost controllers like?

I can get the HKS for $350 used. 2 years old.

I run witht he greddy profec b spec II and i dont rate it (i pretty much bought it cos i bought half the greddy catalogue ) it has bad spiking issues and cant seem to get it right.
Probably best to go E-boost or Apexi EBC as i know those two work well with our cars

Ive got the same problem. Stock standard and spiking between 11 up to 14psi!!

Check you dont have any boost leaks. Sometimes you dont know until you pull everything off (inc Vac lines)

Usually spikes suggest a leak, even if small.

I'm useing a Gizzmo MS-IBC. I had a boost leak on my ic piping which made a spike but thats all fixed and holds boost great. easy to set up to.

So what's that worth n where do you get it from?

The blitz twin solenoid units are very nice. Guy that tunes my VR4 recommends them, he also recommends them to the twin turbo porsche owners he deals with

Also, my VR4 has an old style profec with the big twin solenoid - no spiking issues at all, and the control unit itself is tiny.

What about running an ECM link with built in boost control?

what would be recommend for a replacement solenoid? I have a jaycar IEBC setup in mine but can't get it to control boost on the stock solenoid, one thread I read on these controllers suggested getting an XR6 turbo solenoid from ford for 40 odd bucks as they are apparantly a quality part, but not sure if something aftermarket would be better

What about running an ECM link with built in boost control?

+1 then you can actually tune and have boost control

get a MAC valve, the ford ones gum up. well the one on my ford does anyway
