Hi guys
The battery on my E1 went dead flat from not being used for a few months (trickle charger must have failed).

Since putting in a new battery, two things seem to have happened
1. the open door light stays on, but gets brighter when the door is open
2. the climate control display doesn't work for the first few minutes, but then seems to come on after a while. The climate control otherwise functions normally.

Any idea what these issues are and how to fix them?

Thanks!

maybe the door light staying on was the cause of the flat battery?
I asked the NRMA guy that when he changed the battery over. He thought it was unlikely.

Regardless, I find standard batteries only seem to last a few years these days before they die.

If you have a volt meter, do a parasitic draw test.

There are heaps of videos on YouTube on the procedure, but you basically monitor than amperage across the battery and keep pulling fuses until it goes to 0. Then you know which circuit you are looking at.

Good luck.

Current across the battery.... Hmmmm

The interior light staying on is a huge factor. I had similar issue, the alarm guys wire boot lights in, it all sucks.

Also central locking stays on
Thanks Jack. Interesting comments. I have to do some digging with the multimeter!!!

As others here have said. Do the parisitic draw test from Google.
If you disconnect stuff to make no draw, you will have no alarm.

Your other solution is to put a maintenance battery charger on it full time.
I have a older car stored elsewhere, and it fires straight up, whenever... 5+yrs on same battery with less than 200km done
