not a reshell But how is it legitimately registered if it isnt a rebirth, or it has another cars plates on it, or its a private import.

In the Vin does it have REPV or something like that?

yes thats it

So the vehicle is a rebirth. Can be registered in Victoria and Queensland.

I would definately ensure that to the buyer that a vehicle check is done as alot of these were recalled for inspection and alot of them for re-engineering.

But it makes this car one of the very few original evolution 3's around.

Good luck with the sale. :)

Mate the car has never been taken apart it has the ce9a chassis number is Ce9a it was registered as a replacement vehicle where it took the place of another car but is registered as a mitsubishi evo 3

Im the previous owner of this car So lets stop trying bringing down the sale of this f**king awsome car

If i had the money this would be back in my garage!!!

Also Post some more pic's of this thing man!! that pic you have of it when you first got it home doesnt do it justice, if i can get onto my old computer ill post some as well

Anybody who buys this has to look after it or ill find you.....

Evolvd :D

LOL.. Please dont jump to conclusions. I never mentioned anywhere that it was not a genuine CE9A.. though, i do believe i did say its one of the few genuine evo 3's if you read my post. :)

The only way i can see this car be registered is a rebirth which is how my previous car was registered, it still retains its original chasis so it will bea CE9A as you suggest.

REPV REPB or something along those lines means that a previous GSR or similar was written off, they have used this car to repair it. Its like a loop hole in the compliance of the cars but again only works for Vic and QLD.

I am suprised that none of the owners past or present have looked into this or into how the car was registered without being a private import.

But it is a great looking car, a genuine Evo and it would be my car of choice if i had the money.

But good luck with the sale.

6t9REP = repairable writeoff shell was used.

6t9REB = a totally written off vehicle shell was used.

my evo 5 is registered as a 6t9rep and my old evo 1 was registered as a 6t9reb.

can be registered in w.a, vic, qld.

however, syd can also be registered if the car has been registered for a long time and has been through a recall and been given a vic roads certification to say the car is all clear. Check RTA website.

S.A im not sure of.

its not just rebirthed cars that get recalled... all import vehicles do.

cars under the rep/reb plates were registered either one of 2 ways...

1. that an evo was bought and everything was swapped into the lancer shell.

2. that an evo was bought and the vin was swapped over. (so the evo keeps its genuine shell.

hope that clarifies things.

Thanks dude. wasn't aware they were registerable in other states apart from QLD and VIC. But that is good to know and for everyone else to know.

6t9REB - Would that not mean the car was a statutory write off and that the original cars VIN can not be used.

6t9REP - Repairable write off means it has to go through the VIV (Vehicle identification) process. It also means that the chasis numbers etc must match the repairable write offs chasis numbers?

I guess laws have changed since I had my GSR (8years ago or so) and that was a REP number and that was recalled to vic roads years after i sold it.

im not sure if we should probably take this convo to a new thread (mods can move it if they please)

yeh i remember your gsr i was contemplating buying it but ended up with my evo 1.

anyways yep what you said in regards to reb and rep.

all imported vehicles can be called up for a recall including imported complianced vehicles and private imports.

My evo 5 when i bought it went through a recall and passed pretty easily. You get a certificate from vic roads to say its all good. So once you get that you should be sweet to sell it to most states.

Thanks Guys

This is has been a great thread.

I have learnt quite a bit from this thread.

Thanks again for every1's input!

This certainly is a car to get and keep for a while. Very Collectable!

GOOD LUCK WITH SALE! :)

I didn't mean to jump to conclusions but Most replacement vehicles or rebuilds are rego'd as glxi lancer etc where this is actually rego'd as an Evo

But this is an awsome car here are some pics of when i owned it.
