4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

not that i have seen.

But i was thinking what i would do if i upgraded my turbo to something with a larger intake.. Perhaps cut and weld on a new piece, massage it into shape.

Can you get them intakes to suit a 4" turbo compressor side, and a stock AFM on the other side? (thinking of something for someone elses car for legal purposes) if not I suppose a 3" intake pipe with 4"-3" reducer off the compressor cover would do eh.

Forced performance does one that suits the Evo maf.
4 inch intake.

did u need to vent them? if so did you drill holes? i was thinking maybe running a tube down to the hole under the spare tyre if that'll work

thats the best way to do it if you are going to run it long term... normal 'wet' car batteries let of hydrogen gas that over time will begin to corrode metal... dry cells do not....

anyone seen any non-MAF intake pipes similar to the e-bay links...

so i ordered one and it arrived today

the bastard doesnt fit!! as u can see from the cable ties the hose clamps were not big enough to get over the airflow sensor, even getting that blue joiner on was a squeeze. and now if u make the pipe sit straight so the filter is where the battery normally is, u get the turbo to intercooler pipe in your way, so then if you go on an angle to sit behind battery like in the picture, you wont fit the filter on due to the fuse box been in the way!!

argh what to do....

the only thing to do now is get some nice chrome custom cooler piping made up to match
go the over the manifold route so it dont get in ur way

nah no good man.
cancel the order if u havnt paid and get the over manifold route piping.
i think i read somewhere u got a meek kit, if so u'll have no trouble selling it if u have paid for it, that'll b the best way to go i say.

nah i actually got a HKS piping kit coming from Japan, has anyone got pics of the HKS reload intake kit on a evo 1-3? wondering if you need your battery relocated for it. and been HKS im sure it should fit fine with the HKS cooler piping

No you dont......

I saw a pic of one just the other day, just cant remember where

you talking bout the one i had? no, unless you want to relocate your fuse box

you cant go straight to where the battery usually sits due to the cooler pipes, and u cant angle it behind the battery coz the filter wont clear the fuse box.
