Evo 7 ECU into Hyper Gear RVR ****** DONE IT

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Damn thing flys and fuel too ! Lol. with 272 cams its thirsty, needs moore tuning...
Thanks Mio good work! :)

Sort out your high boost spike and we'll continue tuning.

My evo 7 is hitting 240 loads and stock evo is at 200 mark.
your rvr is hitting 260 load cell, so it does say it is making a decent power.

well im not sure actually i havent really look into what ecu you yet kos i don have an hsg i have a ssg, and i had to get it mod abit chucked in

-evo 3 cams
- full exhaust
- td05 18g
just those small bits and pieces what do u reckon?

Don't bother with evo 3 cams. waste of money over your cams.
turbo size depends on what power you want to achieve. td05 16/20g is nice combo.
Fuel pump is must and injectors are too small. Get bigger injectors so you don't have to upgrade again
wideband like aim is must have to tune air/fuel mix

etc.etc

Just an update.
We flashed Tephra V5 and hooked up the switch to work as an intercooler spray switch in evo7. Now we run dual maps switchable by our switch.

Nice!

I'm doing a VR4 to Evo 6 ecu plug and play loom this holiday.
Currently a Motec m4 plug and play loom but Motec has been sold so will be converting.

Ill start a new post about it.

How is the stock ecu flash stuff anyway?
Easy to use?

Good.
ECU flush is easy to use once you get use to it. Just make sure you have e correct files for your ECU. With evoscan logging and data map tracing so easy to tune the .maps.

Ok.
We took my evo 7 and rvr to dyno today.
Evo made 185kw and rvr 178kw. Not bad for rvr if we look back before evo7 ecu is installed it made 155 on same dyno.

TBH I was surprised with my evo considering it only has wallbro pump, 1.5bar actuator, k&n stock replacement filter and my tune.
It should get close to 200kw mark once I change my stock exhaust :)

Great work VR401!! :)

I'm running the Evo 7 ecu in my Evo 3. Still trying to work out why ECUFlash won't work with my Openport 1.3U cable & reflash adapter. Currently have EcuFlash and Evoscan installed onto my Asus Windows 8 32bit tablet Model No. ME400c (JB hifi have them for $347 til Sunday 26th May :D)

I've never used any form of ECU software nor have i flashed an ECU before so this is totally new to me. The E7 ECU was already pre-installed when i purchased "Lister's" vehicle almost a year ago (car has been off the road since due to respraying)

I also own a 95 SuperSports Gear and wouldn't mind doin the same to it if possible.

Still totally stumped as to why EcuFlash won't talk to the E7 Ecu but Evoscan will after the key is turn to the 'ON' position. I tried the DTC's in Evoscan directly after turning the key and as expected the "check engine" code appears within the first few seconds. Once the check engine light disappears on the dash i hit the DTC button in evoscan again and the fault goes away. There are a few other codes that i'm yet to cross-check and hopefully nothing nasty arises.

I'm not sure exactly what Lister left behind as far as tuning and fault diagnoses goes. So i'm slowly learning/clarifying things in my head as to how he's done this. Big learning curve for me but excited in the same token!

I read in a evolutionm forums that it's suggested to try numerous times within 1 sec of turning the key to ON. This could be regarding just the Openport 1.3 rig i have inherited and it's slower baud rate i pressume?

With rvr it is easy because they have OBD II on them compared to evo 3 old style diagnostic port.
We had to wire up flush plug and it was working ok. I wonder if your OBD II and flush plug are hooked up to your ECU correctly?
Also, it may have been locked with ecutek bin and may need ecu unlocker running before you try to read ecu?
As for SSG, i don't see a reason why not. They are very same to HSG ECU

He he i got evo8 ecu now and i need to connect aem wb to it for logging. Any ideas wich pin to use? Map sensor i have on pin 92 and reads the boost. And wich rom is better for my setup? At the moment i use 90550001 v5.1fix-mods rom.
