evo lsd on ebay....does it work

had one in my fwd hatch a few years back. in fwd it was good in a straight line, but still opened up bad through corners. in fwd it helped a decent amount, and worth the money being cheap. but still nothing like a real lsd.

That one is based on the 'Phantom Grip' LSD so dont get it confused with the real deal which may be a better quality product. Lots of people think these types of things are ass, but theres been plenty of 4G63 cars running the "Phantom Grip" model and getting some good use out of them. I personally know of a 400hp+ atw car running one for years now and its still going strong after many hard launches and runs at the track. I think the Phantom Grip in Mitsu boxes has some success due to Mitsu boxes being relatively strong for the use of them, but other car makes of cars probably end up with breakages, hence why there's a mixed perception about these things.

thanks for that info......I googled phantom grip and looked for the fitting instructions. now i think when you hear the spider gears stop clunking and banging as they try to gouge a path thru the side of this unit. you will have a way of knowing it has stopped working

I do have front and rear lsd in 2 cars......and right now i have 3 toy cars.....:lol:




I managed to find an lsd for the rear....want something for the front.

the one i used in mine, i bought one from the US, had one remade, and then bought heavier die springs for it. i gave it very hard abuse for 2 plus years and it came out looking like the day it went in.

Yes, if its the factory viscous LSD you'll need the longer inner CV cup. Looks like it already comes with the 3.545 LSD crownwheel which is a bonus (The Mitsi viscous LSDs have specific crownwheels) They're hard to find, even harder than the Evo 3.909 LSD crownwheels

Good luck findng the drive shaft to run it thats why mostly they get sold on after people buy them as they get broken in competition and the buy price on a new will cost you your right nut lol
