Thought I'd use the new section by mentioning that I've got some kind of problem with my steering / suspension.

Basically when I turn right it starts clunking
Initial reaction is CV joint but someone has said that the bearing a prone to going.

Anyway I'll find out next week when it goes to the mech

dude, sounds exactly like your bolts in the front lsd have come loose or sheared.

search lancer register.com - heaps of similar stories there.

not a huge $$ job to fix either.

cheers

I'd check to see if all your wheel nuts are done up properly first.

it might sound crazy, but its happened to me, someone played a SILLY joke on me and loosened them all on one wheel.

if it is cv
not that much
prolly about $120.00 for a rebuilt one changeover
then the labour to pull it out and top up your gearbox fluid unless u want to reuse your old one...

i have a evo 6.5 which had a cluncking noise when i took right hand turns. took it to tech sport and turn out to be that somehow the spring was not sitting properly and it was like a five minute fix. just re aligned it .

could be that as the suspension was changed before i boought the car.

well the coilovers go on nxt week anyway so will see then.

I have the exact same problem with my TME atm aswell.

Had CV re-built, still there - $55
Replaced wheel bearing, still there - $339

Now thinking it could be in suspension.

What is this bolt u speak of in the LSD???

Also have been told when u put more that 2 degree of negative camber on the fron u will get a knock knock noise cause the CV will touch ur sway bar.

Have u found the problem yet tenji`????

$395 spent on a noise

I'm thinking either some people are so fussy with their rides that it needs to be silent before they can stop spending money chasing sounds.

Hey I'm pedantic as about noises but I only chase the real sounds worth worrying about the rest of my cash stays in the bank and I spend more time actually enjoying my car driving it than spending money on it.

Adam, I've seen TME's running like -6 degrees camber for the track, no problems with them.

It sounds like a common problem, might be worth checking that lancer forum.

i had this problem and it has come back again last time i changed the FR sturt top and that made the noise go away. however a few months later its back.
