Hey guys,

just wondering if its worth me hooking this up, the bumper i bought has the nozzle and the pipe, but how much more stuff is there involved... reservoir? pump? i have no idea...... :?

cheers

I have an I/C spray on my car, basically theres a switch inside the cabin that powers the windscreen washer pump, the line going from the water resevoir has been tee'd, with one line going the normal route to the bonnet, and the other going to the I/C setup.

hope this helps

any idea what system the rally cars run?

last year when i was at a start point and didn't have to do bs work (taking times) i just got to stand around and watch cars launch.. it seemed like they had a system that when they hit their launch control, the water spray went on.. and water goes everywhere!

thats, um a good question

Infact, thats not how its hooked up at all, but its real close, I havent really payed it too much attention, but im pretty sure its running off the windscreen washer motor, or theres an extra pump running off the same reservoir

washer???? nah

i got the factory i/c spray on my EVO 1RS, its run from a button in the cab, near the hand brake, runs off the resivoir and goes to the i/c. the window washer works jus the same as the normal car, there simply must just be a solinoid on the resivoir motor.

It runs off the same resivoir as your windscreen washer bottle, but the water for the intercooler is only 1/2 that amount of the resivoir.
So that when you use up all of the water for the intercooler, you still have 1/2 the bottle left for your windscreen, if you know what i mean? it's in 2 stages.

v8h8a: Do you have 1 or 2 nozzle's on your front bar? (I think they added another nozzle on the EVO 3, I have 2 BTW)

not sure

not sure how many nozzles, id have a look now but my car is in the shop. broked down the other day.
yeah i know what ya mean bout the washer bottle, might have to remidy that so i get all the water 2 the i/c.

I checked it out recently myself. I have the EVO 3 interior in my coupe and along with it came the intercooler washer button on the centre console next to the handbrake. I noticed on the Proton Satria that the reservoir in the engine bay has 2 x pumps on it - one for the windscreen, the other for the rear window = Perfect for a intercooler spray setup  That's what I'm gonna do :D

could u not just get a second motor and bottle and independently wire it up?? (from any car?)
that would remedy the problem of wanting to spray the i/c and not ur windscreen?
and if u have a second bottle then u know your gonna get all the water out of it just for the i/c
and u can still clean ur windshield :D :D

what model satria are we talking about>? would the bottle fit in the standard GSR/EVO location? sounds like a good idea

especially seeing proton parts are like less than half the cost of mitsub parts..... for some phucked up reason...

Yep, a Satria is a Mitsubishi CC chassis and their washer bottle will bolt directly into the stock Lancer CC Evo/GSR/Coupe etc washer location  too easy. All you do then is wire up an independent switch and waterspray nozzle and walah! If you had a spare washer bottle you can use the motor off it and place it onto your existing bottle as there is room there for it as well, you just have to cut out the hole

my washer bottle has a 2nd pump which i guess is meant for the rear windscreen (gsr with evo2 engine... no rear wiper) so as soon as i become smart enough to work out a switch for the cooler spray i'll let you know how it goes

evo's and gsrs with the option of water sprayers have a twin outlet pump and the voltage is transversed for the ic spray and has a valve inside reverse's and sprays the frt windscreen.
