Hey all; I'm new to the boards and recently purchased a CC 94' GSR. Currently on the car i have a exhaust system which doesn't sound as good as i'd like it to be. I'm wanting to chuck on twin pipes.

I don't know much about exhaust systems or what i have to get to make it possible; but from what i understand - it's possible to just replace the muffler with twin exhausts?

If i'm to go to an Exhaust shop; What do i ask for to get Twin Pipes to replace the current muffler on the car?

Also; I'm open to opinions from people so if you would say i'd get better airflow from doing something else such as a straight pipe; i'd love to hear it.

Kind Regards,

Justin.

P.S: Also looking for some wheels; I'd prefer Black or Gold ones (114.3x4) - Let me know if you have any.

i myself would go speak to an exhaust specialist. find out what it has on there now and then go from there.

i myself run 3" from the dump back hi flow cat mandrel bends ending in a 3" entry 5" barrel 4" exit cannon which suprisingly is quieter than when i had a stock sohc 1.8 exhaust with aftermarket muffler but has a much deeper note.

i think you will find going twin tips (one each side of the car) will be quite abiit of hassle but is doable. but it wont make much difference if any to the exhaust note. the biggest changes will be had with different metals for the exhaust different sizes and different muffler/ resonator setups. most shops will be happy to allow you to try different mufflers for a small fee for their time if you dont end up buying anything.(cutting off your stock one trial fitting another and allowing you to hear the note.) i'm not a fan of cannon i think in general they sound like ass i personaly would much rather a sports muffler but when a mate of a mate gives you a deal no one else will match you dont get picky about what your given.

Yeah i'm not a fan of Cannons either so i'm not getting one of those. I was wanting to get Twin exhaust on the same side, preferably 3". I don't particularly want a muffler so yeah. I don't want a LOUD exhaust - as i'm still on my P's and trying to avoid police attention.

those are just tips and can be welded to any muffler and for the most part will not change the exhaust note. so tbh i'd be going down to the lacal muffler shop and looking at some muflers and possible a complete system if you want the note to change

Aight - Cheers.

Oh and also; For a sports system; Can you get it from the Cat? I already have a dump pipe which is aftermarket and a little lower than the stock one; so the front half is fairly good.

And if so; how much is it around to get a 3" sports system catback? I just want to make sure they dont try reap my cash pile.

budget around 700+ and yes you can go from the cat back. i only got from the dump back because i transplated the engine into a car the never was turboed so had nothing in the way of exhaust parts to speak of

That price isn't to bad although I've been quoted 600-650 for a 3inch mandrel bent dump back with high flow cat and muffler with what ever tips I want, and I can say with 100% sureness the guy that does it is dam good at it :)

Edit: that is for a mild steel system, don't even wanna know the price for stainless haha
