500kms after getting a new clutch (jim berry brass button thing) my car is making horrible noises very similar to the stucl down the coast noises of a screwed right angle drive.

If this is the case what am i doing wrong or was it installed wrong? or was the clutch installed wrong???

Can you get stronger aftermarket ones?

This is getting rediculous. I can't buy new **** for my car when i have to replace the same things over and over

what does the noise sound like?
my car makes funky noises now since the ceramic clutch went in.
is it just on decel?

do you run in the clutch or just give it a hard time

I try and do atleast 1000kms before any kind of launch

Yeah its mainly under decel.

And i have been as nice as possible to the clutch, expecially becaus ei am running the turbo in too.

however i got sick of waiting at a round about last night so launched at about 4,500 other then that i really havent taken the car over 4k and always just take off as smooth as possible without shudder.

what does the noise sound like? is it a rough metallic rattling noise?

taking off without shudder will wear the clutch faster too dude...

yeah thats exactly what it sounds like.

I also get it when under load (say going up big hill) and just trying to hold a steady speed rather then accelerating.

And wtf? so what is the best way to take off??

my car makes that noise, so did dre's...
don't stress about it, but it is a bit embarrassing... makes your car sound like a POS.

just let the clutch out without slipping it... so that the clutch is either touching the flywheel or it isn't. put up with the shudder - it even says so on the exedy website

that shudder cant do the diffs & other various drive line components any good?

put up with the clutch ware i say, my brass button clutch has gone 20k putting 240 odd motor kw to the drive line, & i do my best to not shudder when taking off...

it has a sprung center, so i dont know if that makes a diff? but i drive it like any other manual car & ppl who drive it get the hang of it after the first stall

Does the noise occur while deccelerating, between 3000 and 2500 rpm or thereabouts?

Like a grumble from the rear end?

No its all from the front.

yeah theres a noise when i decelerate but that has been explained.

I would like to know whether the noise when going a steady speed (80k) up a hill at around 3k is though any ideas?

check all your bolts mate,

did they take off the flywheel for machining?
if so, did they loctite the flywheel onto the crank?

did they loctite the pressure plate onto the flywheel?
are your xfercase bolts all in?

when your xfercase is goin, it sorta sounds like a wub - wub sound
