'lol, here's one for you. Before Xmas I jacked up the front of a mates car with a hydraulic jack and put the vernier calipers around the lowered Kings front springs to check the diameter of them - the job was only going to take a minute so I figured there was no point in going through the hassle of getting the car stands out. My mate grabbed the digicam and leant in to take a photo. At the same time, unbeknowns to the both of us, my little 3 year old boy had snuck outside and put the jack handle into the jack. Then BANG! the front end of the car dropped instantly with my wrists caught in between the 17" front tyre and the fender and I couldnt get them out"

that sounds like a close one mate.!

Yeah, lucky my fingers werent in between the coil springs, or worse, if I was under the car. BUT, whenever I get under a car I ALWAYS use the car stands too.

We had a customer come into work with a return.... a new jack that collapsed.
He was white as a ghost!!!

Sais the car missed his head by a few inches.
Still he should have had stands under it aswell.

WARNING!

Never get under a car with just a jack!

A bloke was killed in Townsville yesterday when his car fell on him and they didnt find him for 24 hours!
He didnt have any jack stands under the car!(shakes head).

ALWAYS Use jack stand people!!

Terrible to hear that, but its the truth, gravity wants shit to go down, and fast, always think about where it would go if it were to move...and always use more than one safety!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put it on stands, and then bring jacks up on the rails just to touch...can never have too many supports!

Yeah im always paranoid about it.
Car up on 4 stands, give the car a violent shake before I get under it, just to make sure its ok.
