First real event for the EVO

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

hey dre... yeah i was down there yesterday. it's quite close actually. jetstar, 1hr from melb, about 35mins from the hobart airport.

i'm glad that i have seen whats on offer.. it's going to give me that extra drive to get the gsr down there in the next 6 months..

i'd love to have entered the event yesterday.

Scott, what were the entry criteria? did you need to be a club member? how much was it.

Looked like it was shaping up to be a good day, some crazy powerful cars there, and the E9 was amazingly sideways without wiping out 3 times in one run. Looked amazing watching the Evo come back into line 3 times within 15 seconds.

Very cheap day Nick, club entry and cams licence is a must but any vic based club will entitle you to enter-also a l2s cams licence (which you require to run any club based motorport event) can be purchased through your club, or on the day of the event.
Club membership down here is $60 PA and I believe a cams licence is $90 PA.
If you decide to join a club such as the Hobart sporting car club it entitles you to all day track usage @ baskerville on private days for $60 instead of the regualr $110.

As you were witness to yesterday, any sort of car can get out there and have a go, the GSR would have loved it mate!
Next trip down it would be worth considering slotting it into the itenerary to top off that holiday experience:w00t:

**On a side note...many thanks to Nick for hooking me up with a new in car camera setup, my present equipment is not the best of quality so Nick has provided me with some new gear that will hopefully capture all of my cockups in superb resolution:lol:

Had a fun day but once again the rain was pouring down and the track was greasy as hell
Ended up winning my class which was E (3400) had a bit of stiff competition too with a tarmac prepped IX, a VI and a VII.
Very good turnout with nearly 50 cars entering of various makes and models, just a pity the weather was so ordinary.
Starting to get a feel for the car-it loves to step the rear, is twitchy as hell but I love it:lol:

Got the winning run on vid as well as a not so good one!!

you wait, when those crazyarse shocks of yours are dialed in too suit you its going to be a dead set rocket.
you have a very competitive car for the hillclimb series there scotty. good on you man.

hey scott ws good to get down there for the day even if it was short notice and a 2.5 hour drive for me to compete.
wish i had a decent camera working in the car would have been mad to see the incar footage of shane drifting around and my 2 wheel sideways effort across the finnish line. great to be shareing the driver of the day medal

Well done Scott  Youve grown some hair since the last time I saw you mate lol. Im intruiged.... what's in the box? :)

Lol, The box contained my new in car camera system, kindly sourced and put together by Nick- compact, great quality and very cheap:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Your car was at the back of the queue Hurf.... they let the fast ones go first:p lol-jks

The last couple...

Hurf... i was there to see one of your runs before lunch..

I was so impressed to see you get that evo massivly sideways 3 times in 1 run, at the change of direction around to the last straight up the hill.

I thought you were going to loop it forsure. For me it was truely an example of what an evo is capable of when there is a driver capable of catching it's fury (your heavy right foot) Awesome!... wish i had that run on video
