With the current exodus of vr4 owners (VR4's will officially be 20 years old in 6 months time... the oldest of them), soon people will be offloading their e123's like crazy and the vr4's will become collectibles.

Wait another 5-6 months then buy in for a classic?

Wait another year or 18 months and pickup an e123 for rock bottom prices as everyone upgrades to the e6/7?

i sold my evo for this reason.. im looking forward to the price drop of the 5/6 evo's.. im particually interested in a TME 6.5 in passion red with racing stripes ;) got an importer looking out for me as they will still hold value and be collectables! he said he can get me one for around 27k on road.

do you really think vr4's will become collectibles? the majority of the public (that i have spoken to anyway) have never heard of them and look at you as if you farted when you say you drive a Galant VR4

dunno bout being collectors...

unless it was the evo 0

otherwise
it will just become a cheap bomb to mod

lancia deltas are in limited numbers and are awesome...

vr4 evo 0 monte carlos will be in the same league...

other vr4's i think not.

Each to their own I guess. There might be a dozen in Adelaide, so given a few years I think they will be a collectors item

Lancia Delta's are far from awesome.

I drove one courtesy of Lancia at the lancia factory and frankly... You should never meet your heroes.

As for vr4's in aus, there's less than 500 total. Minus accidents. There was only like 300-400 aspec's sold or something plus a hundred odd imports.

I know where there is a AUS spec VR4, 1 owner with 18000KMs on the clock, NEVER been registered

They were going to sell too a local car yard for $2500 because thats all the car yard said they were worth as per Red Book.

Its been only moved around under trade/restricted plates once in a while 8)

ok tell me where it is an i'll buy it........

hey lorrie i do belive you have a point. the vr4 does have a rich rally history being part of the birth of group A rally from the demise of groupe b . it would be real interesting to know how many vr4's there are in australia aspecs + bspecs?

also its a kinda shame that the vr4's are worth not much at all ive seen some cars swap hands at under 4 grand. they just dont seem to be a desired car it seems to take a fair while to sell a vr4 as apposed to a silvia or ae86 which they seem to sell as on a sellers market and sell within a week?

skuz

EDIT: WTF is up with redbook anyways they seem to be fair out of wack when pricing a turbo 4wd car lol

The VR4 is creditted along with the Lancia Delta with bringing 4wd to rallying. There will be crazies around who want them :)

Hey, are you calling me crazy?

Well, may be I am a little, or maybe that they are a fairly cheap, safe and practical car capable of giving the sh*ts to the flat four fraternity :D

I'll be keeping my vr4 until I can afford a TME (which will probably be never).

I don't think I'd buy a later model evo. All those driver aids turn me off a bit... AYC, SAYC, ASC, EBD, ABS, blah blah blah insert a new acronym here.

Heh.. the magic of the VR4 is.. it looks like a magna.

And yet it's an Evo.

Mmm..

Anyway, the reason 180's, 200sx's etc sell quickly and for so much is, it's a "pull" car, ie, "chicks love my car bro". I mean people still import non-turbo supras, why the hell would you want a non-turbo supra, just get a f#&&ing econovan.

Vr4's.. well... they look like a magna. At least Evo's have "sexy" body kits.
