Bringing back an old topic. Has anyone actually gone with these? I just want to know the quality with them - especially camber tops.

Just Jap are selling them now for $1299 with a choice of spring rates (they come with 8.7 front and 7.2 rear) but the real selling point is the 2 year replacement warranty which I don't think anyone can beat.

It's a $300 saving from Hotbits and a better warranty

Teins are 8 front and 6 rear yeah?

tein don't make them for the vr4 anymore, i have checked tein catalogues here and in the us, plus emailed them about it

Mr Silver VR4 just got em
Went for a drive and they seemed firm and nice..not overly harsh and handled fairly welll.
I didnt go for a real good drive though.........
thik his spring rates are aroun 8 and 6

But id be happy witht them

They were $1399 at the time.

$300 saving from Hotbits, but the street hotbits are only height adjustable, the $2400 hotbits still dont have camber plates

Good points there.
What height are the street hotbits? I do like the idea of them simply because they since they aren't height adjustable they're legal and are probably made to the best centre of gravity

If your worried about the G4's being illegal for height adjustable just get someone to tack weld the height adjusting collars in place, regency have gotta let that pass.

Just get them, then i can find out what they are like

Street hotbits ARE height adjustable, thats the only thing you can adjust...

I know in victoria the reason adjustable coilovers are illegal is due to the spring not having a proper seat, not just because you can adjust the height

The G4's are both spring seat adjustable And lower mount adjustable.

I beleive it is this type of shock that is not viewed as being legal...so ive told anyway..by the manager of Fulcrum..but i have never seen any DOT rulings on it.

Though there are a few products that are like this and ive never seen anyone get in the shit for it..just because theyre adjustable down the bottom shouldnt make them illegal....for example Tein Flex are another shock that are like this.

And as far as the spring seat sitting on a thread and not being as strong..if anyone trys to do you for that tell them politely to F*ck off....Koni's come standard with a 2mm circlip holding the whole weight of the spring seat.I can tell you know..the thread would be stronger.

Dont weld a shock with gas in it either..it may go boom..and or you may destroy/boil the oil/nitrogen in side it and maybe destroy the seals..now that would suck..But as SIR stated..tacking it probly wouldnt hurt.
but......

I think that alone would get you into shit.
welding and or modyfing to change a manufactured product without the correct engineereing cert gets you in the shit...

Not that theyd know..you'd just tell em there welded factory.

Why on earth would you risk ruining a perfectly good set of coil overs by tacking them?

Either get them engineered, or keep the struts for after you have a run-in with the law.

Or, paint 'em satin black and say their factory.

i am running teins in my car, they are 8kg/mm front and 6kg/mm rear.
in my opinion they are a little stiff for a daily driven car (mine is) but you get used to it quickly.

i could never go back from coil overs now

I think the fact that they have a 2 year replacement warranty says a lot about the product

i would definitley buy a set if the teins i got were no good
