Gear popping out

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

This sounds like the usual countershaft bearing failure. Because the countershaft is alowed to float around (due to failed bearings) it will pull itself out of gear.

Or the other scenario is that you have been frequently crunching 2nd that hard, that the syncro engagement teeth have been worn down to little stubs and will no longer hold onto drive.

was it good previously?

to check the mounts, just see if the rubber has ripped..
i've had issues with short shifters etc and noticed if not done correctly, it will not allow the gear to go in properly

just make sure the cables are okay/mounts before jumping into the deep end..

also, my stupid throttle. how do i lube the thing up. it likes to idle above normal if i drive for a while. and i have to stick my feet under the pedal to pull it out to get it normal again
