You know how in cars, how theres the "engine check" light etc, which all are suppose to light up before you start the car, are you suppose to wait until it turns off before starting the car?

My mate said yes, but, i think no. Who waits like 5 seconds? I thought its just to make sure the computer goes through its procedure, to make sure its working...

im pretty sure the lights come on, only to show to you that the bulbs are working. That way if one doesnt popup you know you have a faulty bulb.

Otherwise, if you never saw the lights come on, a bulb might blow, and your brakes could be out, but the light wouldnt come on...

Make sense?

so yeh, you dont have to wait.

Generally some people prime the fuel pump before starting.

I don't know why he thought about the engine light going off? Thats the first i've heard of that one!

That light is connected to important things like OIL PRESSURE for example.

As soon as the oil pressure reaches the preset values the light goes off.

If it doesnt then somethings wrong! :(
