Hi all.... does someone have a copy of the EVO I-III homologation papers please? I'm not after the whole document as such, just the parts that show the wheel track and wheel base to supply to my engineer. cheers boys. :D [PS: If you got the whole doc even better just PM me but dont put it up for public viewing]

The reason why I need the doc is because I need proof of the EVO wheel track front and rear... and as we cant find any goddamn genuine EVO's to physically measure up around here, nor the workshop manual as proof, I need the next best thing - homologation papers (engineer doesnt like going by Jo Blo's internet website as he says its not a valid source)

Yeah its OK boys, Dirk checked the homo papers out and the wheel track isnt even stated on them (go figure). I'm using EVO 1 K-frame, EVO 1 lower control arms, EVO 1 hubs, EVO 1 crossmember etc. Basically the front end is all EVO 1. As per my MMC post:

But I've now struck a little problem I know he is going to ask me about. Below are the OEM specs of different cars vs the specs of my coupe which has been converted to AWD. The extra track in the rear I can live with due to the offset of the replacement wheels, but the front end sits with an extra 30mm wider track than what it should be. You think when I had the front and rear wheel alignment done, or the fitting of the whiteline anti-lift/castor bushes changed the front track dramatically?

EVO I / GSR Lancer
Front: 1450
Rear: 1460

EVO II/III
Front: 1465
Rear: 1470

1994 Mirage FWD coupe (CC Lancer coupe)
Front: 1450
Rear: 1460

My coupe
Using EVO 1 K-frame, crossmember, complete front end setup with Whiteline anti-lift/castor kit bushes and adjustable coil over suspension (no camber tops as camber bolts are located on the strut), and 17 x 7" wheels with 40 offfset...
Front: 1500
Rear: 1480

What do you think may be the cause for the extra 30mm front track?

Yeah its a 205 tyre on a 7" wide rim, 40 offset... same wheels used front and rear so theres no difference in the track of the wheels all round. The difference front to rear over the stock EVO should be the same - so 20mm + front track over stock should also be 20mm + rear track over stock for example as you are using the same wheels all round.

The rear of the car is untouched bar the coil over suspension so the 20mm extra track over a stock EVO 1 would be contributed to the bigger wheel offset.

The front of the car though is untouched EVO 1 as well, apart from the coil over suspension with inbuilt camber bolt, and the Whiteline castor kit. Its got 50mm extra track over a stock EVO 1  (why go EVO II/III eh?)

Let me re-measure the front wheel track again tomorrow just to be sure. Maybe the crossmember got in the way.

Could my car be of any help, ie measure up stuf etc?

It's in the garage just sleeping as it does..............

the castor kit will add a bit of extra wheel base but shouldnt affect your track as such. where are you measuring it? how much camber are you running currently?

Measuring from centre of tyre to centre of tyre for the track distance. The alignment was done in March and is as follows {note the coupe had never had a wheel alignment after the AWD conversion and Castor kit fitment so thats why the 'before' is way out}:

Yes please mate. Can you please grab a friend and tape measure, and measure the length between the centre of the left tyre tread to the centre of the right tyre tread, and measure it so that you have the straightest distance between the 2 points (ie, dont let the engine crossmember be in the way of your measurement). That may help out a lot thanks. Knowing your wheel widht. your tyre width and wheel offset would also be great. Thanks

if you any negative camber (i can see you only have 1deg though)and are measuring accross the lower section of the tyre it may show increased track. just a thought

Ill measure it up today some time
Arent the front control arms different in an E1 to E3?

Is that what this is all about, knowing if the track is the same between the 3 models?

Just a point of interest, when i had an E1 bar on the front, it didnt line up that well with my guards.
When i put the II bar on the front, it lined up way better on the sides than the E1 bar did, it was like the III guards were wider than the 1 bar, so to speak.

Maybe CD9A front guards are different to CE9A front guards, i dont think anyone has ever confirmed it though, but if there is a difference, could there be the same difference carried through in the front arms, and hence the front track?

Also, due to camber, i may get innacuracies.

My current wheel combo is 7.5 wide @ + 42.
I can measure it up, just specify where u want me to measure from.Ie, outside of rim to outside of rim?

I can try the centre tyre to centre tyre...and see how i go.

I did the front........1477-1478mm (estimate of course)

Like i said.
7.5 wide +42 offset
Tyre is a 215/35/19 btw

Using this
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
It would indicate my offset sticks out 22mm further than standard. (using stock as 6 wide @+45...that correct?)

would this rubbish diagram below be right then?

Correct, but your 19" wheel measurements are way past the stock 15x6"' and 17x7'" info I'm after lol.. you got an extra 0.5" more in each wheel and a different offset :)

Guys, I think I'm onto something here and need some advice. Does anyone know the OFFSET of the STOCK LANCER GSR 14x5.5" wheel? I have a theory and need this little piece of information to prove it.

In the meantime, can someone with a stock GSR with stock 14" GSR wheels measure their wheel track for me please? Get a mate to help you and measure from the centre of the tyre to the centre of the tyre up front. This will give you the stock OEM wheel track which should be 1450mm. Make sure to measure it so the engine crossmember isnt in the way as it will throw the numbers out.

Also, anyone out there with a stock EVO 1 running stock 15" Oz racing wheels, can you also check your wheel track too and get back to me. According to the specs it should also be 1450mm.

Which doesnt make sense to me if both cars have 45mm offset wheels, as a GSR uses 14 x 5.5" wheels and the EVO uses 15 x 6" wheels.

Thanks guys.

Yeah but the measurement and offset ive accounted for would show the correct standard track.

Each wheel on my car extends 22mm more outside the original origin of a stock wheel, therefore I measure to centres, then subtract 22mm from each side...this would give you the centreline if it had stock wheels...stock evo III wheels (which im taking as being 6 inches wide at +45)

Does this not work?

The 1433 is an estimate its nowhere near what u listed on the first page tho for some reason.
Anyway, i have a japanese manual here if u want me to look anything up.

I have a Evo 1 with the Evo 1 K-frame, E2/3 cast control arms and swaybar set-up. Running on 205/50 15s on the standard 15x6 inch Enkei/Mitsubishi wheels.
My track is still 1450mm at the front.

Ah yeah I've also got urethane bushes offset for extra castor, but this wont affect the track at all.
Wierd that you've got so much extra track in the front, it must be in the wheels.
