The Pits inspection is just a more thorough roadworthy inspection. Usually best to undergo with nil, if not minimal modifications done to the car.
If it leaks oil forget about passing the inspection. A normal roadworthy inspection is usually lenient in this regard because you can plead ignorance, but for the Pits inspection its a BIG deal as you are going for registration.
Ensure all the usuals work properly... wipers, water sprayers, indicator lights, handbrake, brakes, brake lights, reverse lights, low and high beams, horn etc. PLUS, ensure the seatbelts retract fully and are not freyed, steering wheel isnt torn, carpet isnt torn or worn under the driver's feet, you have all the rubbers on the clutch and brake and accelerator pedals, seats arent torn, seats are mounted well and dont move excessively. A tip is to clean the car right up and make it look very presentable and clean when going for a pits inspection. Even a set of cheap ass car mats inside to cover torn carpet is a good idea. If you have rips in the seat just use a seat cover, rips in the steering wheel use a steering wheel cover. If you have leaks or blows smoke, give it a good degrease and hi-pressure clean before going for inspection and use some thicker engine oil and engine oil Stop-Leak.
