I have a few incar vids I want to edit and shorten so that I can upload them onto youtube.

I am running windows 7 home profesional, dont want to pay money.

any ideas?

If you just want to shorten them, how about Live Movie Maker?

It's free, pretty limited in ability to edit videos, but certainly gets the job done.

Awesome man, glad it worked out for you.

The GoPro's really do the car footage well hey. What quality did you record that in?

Oh by the way, if you're interested in doing some out of car filming, there are knock off "gorillapod" tripods for sale for ridiculously cheap: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Mini-Tripod-Gorillapod-video-digital-camera-/310310551907?pt=AU_Cameras_Photographic_Accessories&hash=item483ff34163

I just bought one posted to Canada for like $2.80 lol.

It'll take a while to get the footage but if the marshals will just let you go out on the track before you lap and put it on the inside of a corner you could get some awesome clips.

I think I may grab one of them anyway for that price Jase.

That was recorded in 1080p 30fps, came out ok in the silvia, but seemed to struggle a bit in the starlet
with the light changes. For what Ipaid for the gopro Im super happy with it

I'll let you know if I come across anything else.

I was about 5 minutes away from buying a GoPro before my friend offered me a brand new Contour HD for free. The GoPro is definitely the better unit - for mountain biking the GoPro has a chest mount which gets really good footage, and it's better with the light changes too, not to mention I was going to buy the BacPac module too, and the still photo mode rocks. Speaking of which, you should mount it to your door just behind the front wheel and set it on the 2 second photo mode. Could get some good cornering pics!

I might give that a try, I did get a good still inside the car from that position. the quality on the stills is awesome

great quaility vids!

C&C, but next time it would be really cool to actually see out the front window :D

yeah that is a bit of a problem, when I checked it I did think I could see a lot further forward,I really need to setup a proper mount.
at least in the evo I have plenty of bars to mount it onto

There are some awesome telescopic mounts with *I don't know the proper photography term* universal type joints on each end. Some of them look burly enough that you could mount it a half metre away and it might still be strong enough not to move.

Pricey though!
