Hello all, haven't been on here in awhile (had a child in the meantime, so I have been rather busy!!!!).

Last week, the Dashboard lighting (speedo/tacho/fuel gauge) decided to call it quits. Have been driving at night with no speedo :).

Anyone got an idea if this is easy to fix, or how much it will cost. If it costs too much, Ill just put up with no speedo at nighttime!!!

Congrats on the bubs..

So is every light out on the instrument panel? Seems odd for them to all go at once...

But easy to change a globe.. Pull the speedo facia off (2 or 3 screws).. Pull out the cluster... And about 4 or 5 bulbs are plugged into the back....

So easy even I can do it...

Yeah, speedo, tacho and fuel gauge have all given up. Warning lights still work (hand brake light, everything that comes on when you turn the car on.

Hmmm ... I am thinking this could be fuse related...

I would say grab a couple of globes (they are pretty cheap so you may as well get em all)... Then replace em and see if it works... If not, there is a fuse problem... I am pretty sure that the illumination has it's own fuse ...

Is there anything else that is not working ...? It may be shared with the cigi lighter...

if u want to get some good quality bulbs and change colour of the bulbs theres a company on ebay that does everything to do with led's etc..i paid something lyk 20 bux postage and handling for 5 bulbs wich replace the factory bulbs
here's a pic of my cluster.

Id say fuse related if the clusters lights died all at once...

Either that, or someones playing funny buggers with you and adjusted your dimmer switch underneath your right hand air vent!

Another thing i'd do is give the cluster a push towards the engine it might have wiggled itself loose a touch and might not be connecting properly happened to me once after i took it out.

tried lol but blinkers, hazards, and all indicator lights work just fine. no cluster illumination tho. also may be seperate problem but headlights arent even working anymore. worked earlier today but drivers side was super dim. tried new bulbs but got same result.

Most likely its the unit on the right hand side of your steering wheel which the dimmer switch controls, its all connected to the dash lighting.
Remove the whole vent piece and have a look, maybe a replacement (I think from memory its called a rheostat) is needed.
If you have an electrical manual refer to that, good lil description in there.
good luck.

forget about the dash....the dash lights are in the same circuit as the park lights.

if the parkers are out ....the dash will be out as well. so you know the head lights are dead....are the parkers?

I would check the switch on the steering column.

parking lights are out as well. ill have to look at the steering column tomorrow and check the wires behind my cd player. just curious tho what exactly am i looking for on the steering column?

ok so update. went under the dash and removed a whole lot of uneccesary wires. turns out it had a remote starter and used to have old school HID's. got the dash and my gauges working proper somehow. tails work parking lights work, and turners work fine. hazards dont work and one headlight still doesnt work. another problem is when i startup and turns lights on they dont come on for about 5 mins. no lights for about five minutes then BAM the one comes on strong. plus the high beam light stays on no matter what, whether i have my highs or lows on. any body got any suggestions about any of this!?
