Can anybody please help me the location of the fuel pump relay. Connecting a new ecu and need to hook it up. Cheers.

Engine control relay is located behind the ash tray. Its the brass/gold coloured box mounted to dash support and controls FP and something else that just doesnt come to me atm. I'm sure someone else will chime in :)

I agree ..I dont know what else it controls

it does control the fuel pump though!

Surely someone knows. Knowing my luck, ill tap into it and fry something.... But thanks for letting me know where it is. If i knew the colour of the wires, i'd create my own relay, but know one seems to know nor can i find a schematic layout of the wiring through out the car! DAMN IT!!! :fuuuuu:

use a multi meter! contunity unplug the plug from the pump and check the wires from there to the relay, neally all fuel pumps are B+ switched.

Its ALIVE

Finally after about 20 plus man hours, i have successfully installed this ecu. What a pain in the butt. If you have never installed one before that is. So many things i'd do differently but live and learn right?

If anyone oput there needs help in the future on installing an ecu into a gsr, i'd be happy to give advice.

All thats left is a tune and some tyres and this thing is ready to hit the track!

EDIT

Its the same as a EVO3. No stress at all. Took alot of hands on to check wire for wire, but yeah, its the same.
Pm me if you need help with anything.

The engine control relay powers the ECU, ignition, fuel pump and injectors. If you have a dual stage immobiliser in the car chances are it is hooked into one of the injector wires running from the relay as well :)

yep, fuel pump and injectors and back to the ecu as rob says
i had an issue initially with the one in my car

Yeah, it was. I guess i started to grow impatient with it though. Ended up finding it and tapped in to it. Works fantastic now. Although, i felt like a real twit for about 2 hours when i connected the ecu ignition wire to the old stereo ignition... <_< When i finally worked out why the ecu kept turning off when i tried to start the car and what i had done, it was a 2 second fix as i found the black with white ignition cables. Man, if only these schematics shown me all this!

Anyway, its done and off to steve knight on monday for a few hours on the dyno! Fingures crossed its pulls past 200. Certainly has the potential, not sure on the TD05 though, we'll see.

Thanks for all the help on here guys. Cheers
